Note: Unaged, nameless version pre-released in september 2007. Officially released as Bötet Barley Wine in september 2008.

Year 2011. Pours red brown with small white head. Aroma of apples, ripe fruit, plums. Taste of ripe fruits, plums, malts and some sting of alcohol. It hits with full body but its a bit abrupt in the end, it misses some bitterness.

2015 bottle at a tasting, shared by Cuso. Thanks! Relatively thin bodied, very well attenuated, with alcohol hidden well though light warmth is present. Somehow stays on the sweetish side nevertheless. Raisins, dried fruits, prune. Quite good, no mindblower though.

Drank A 2015 edition early in 2017, so aged for at least a year. An aroma of caramel, bread and alcohol. Poured clear with almost no foam, colour was amber. It had a slightly oily texture and tasted sweetly of barley.

Tap. Moeder Lambic Original. Chalkboard states 2014. Reddy, copper colour. Soft haze. Swirly, dense, lasting, cream coloured head. Nose has toasty, buttery malts. Dried vine fruit. Dried fig. Fruity toffee. Some caramel brittle. Taste is sweet and figgy. Lots of chew. Some vinous bitterness comes through. Medium body. Soft fizz. Pretty easy drinking for the ABV. Sticky sweet finish, with a nicely balanced, vinous close. Nice one.

A bottle of 2009 edition. Poured a dark, chestnut brown color with virtually no real head, just a small off-white ring. Quite complex aroma of chocolate, roasty notes, some mild woody feel and biscuity malt - focus is mostly of milk chocolate with slight burn. Taste starts sweet, mildly chocolate with some roastiness. Bittery finish with slight alcohol burn. Creamy and slick, but medium full body. Not a bad one. Pretty nice.
