COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Note: Unaged, nameless version pre-released in september 2007. Officially released as Bötet Barley Wine in september 2008.

Härlig flask storlek på en skön Barley. Kraftig, robust lite spritig men på ett mjuk sätt ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Deep amber in colour with a slight-to-none head, sweetish malty aroma, smooth palate and a taste that balances nigh on perfectly between sweets, bitterness and booze. My favourite beer style, and a fine example of it to boot.

2011 Bottle courtesy of Alex. Thanks! Pours clear amber color with thin head that does not last. Aroma is butterscotch and caramel. Medium heavy mouthfeel. Flavor is pretty balanced and is butterscotch forward, followed by a nice caramel middle, and finishes with a mix of the two. This hides the alcohol well. Very nice.

Bottle at Akkurat shared with friends. Clear copper pour with thin white head. Aroma is really nice, rich toasted caramel malt notes, quite hoppy, leafy hop, nice sherry like aromas. Taste is rich and malty but not too sweet, really malt forward which I like, light bitterness, nice warming alcohol on the palate. Tasty barley wine.

UPDATED: NOV 6, 2015 250 ml bottle. 2012 vintage. Pours a dark red mahogany with light head. Big malty aromas, with brown sugar and caramel. Flavors are same, big, malty and smooth with still a bit of rough bitter hops. Nice.
