SaintMatty (7482) - Uppsala, SWEDEN - NOV 19, 2008
Draught (Svenska Dagar 2008 @ Pikkulintu, Helsinki ) - Black in colour with a small tan head. Roasted and hoppy aroma with a creamy honey hint. Roasted taste with coffee and a hint of cream. Nice and smooth and very tasty.

My Bottom Line:
Roasted coffee beans, raisins and crisp cereal torrefaction thrive in this balanced, highly drinkable and immensely pleasurable Porter.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A sheet of foam covers the brown-tinged black.
-This is as alluring as their Pickla Pils; the same quality is achieved in different stylings.
-The finish is rather crisp and dry, increasing drinkability. Roasted malts are also present, but never too bitter.
-A few dark chocolate melodies are played midway as well.

Bottle.

(On tap) Pours black and completely opaque with a creamy, beige head. Aroma of sweet, hard roasted malts, vanilla and dried fruits and an almost vinous touch. Surprisingly full-bodied with plenty of hard roasted malt. Lightly sweet with a light malt bitterness in the finish. Nice and very harmonious. 190908

OleR (4804) - Oslo, NORWAY - AUG 1, 2008
[email protected] Rover Göteborg. Tanned cream head. Opaque, near-black body. Rounded aroma of refined sweet malts, milk-chocolate , mild coffee and some gentle hops. Taste is smooth and complex; fairly sweet dark malts, caramel, coffe, sweet licorice and mild bittering hops. Mouthfeel is smooth as silk. Medium body. Malty and mild bitter finish. A very nice one.

UPDATED: SEP 6, 2013 (Re-rate, bottle, 0.25 l - BBE 6/2014, from Alko Arkadia, 20130906) The beer poured black. Its head was medium sized and light brown. Aroma had roasted malts and sourness. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were roasted malts, burnt malts, sweetness, sourness, ash and bitterness. Aftertaste was roasty and bitter. The sourness made me suspect there may have been something from with the bottle. I hope to be able to try the keg version again.

(From old notes, draught at Pikkulintu on 2008-01-04) Surprisingly light taste in which some hops can be found. In nose something irritating resembling cellar. Still, enjoyable porter. Old rating: 6-4-7-3-15=3.5

thewolf (12757) - Kolding, DENMARK - FEB 21, 2008
Bottle, bought @ Nørrebro Bryghus.
Pour inpenetrably black with a fine, staying, creamy, beige head. Sweetish aroma with light liqourice, chocolate and mild coffee notes. Light mouthfeel, but not thin. Flavour has a light metallic edge at first, then a terrific dryness with roasted malts, lots of dark chocolate and light coffee. Sad about the metallic off-flavour - otherwise a stunning beer.
