Bottle - Mondial de la Bière, Montréal. Black body with a thin beige frothy head. Lovely malty/hoppy aroma with roasted cereals and black chocolate hints. Taste is complex and very well balanced. It carries roasty, coffeeish, vanilla and chocolate notes. Ends with a long bitter/roasty finish. Excellent Porter!

2009-06-06. Black body with a small tan head that grows larger with a swirl of the glass. Aroma of dry roasty malt is pleasant, moderate dark malts, simple. Flavour starts with dry bitterness, sweet malt base, light roast bitterness throughout, dry finish. (7+) Smooth average to medium bodied palate. (3+) Simple solid porter. Good. Bottle at Mondial 2009, Montreal

Sammy (12760) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JUN 8, 2009
Mondiale 2009. Very chocolate porter, chocolate aroma, medium mouthfeel. Dark with some off-white head, and lace. Well carbonated. Bitterness that is malted away and making for very good porter.

UPDATED: APR 22, 2011 250ml bottle from jonas. Best before 03/2012. Batch A.
Appearance : Deep black medium head that doesn’t stay long.
Aroma : Light coffee and light red fruits. Some raisins. A bit mineral too. Roasted malt. Rather light overall.
Taste : Roasted malt with coffee and dark chocolate. A bit mineral. Finish has nice notes of chocolate and fruits with light licorice.
Overall : My mistake for waiting that long before having this one. I was sure it was a bigger beer than this. It’s still quite good though. Nice chocolate and roasted malt. Very nice finish. Quite drinkable. 110422.

Bottle @ Mondial de la bière 2009. Aroma is weird green olives at first but faded out. Then it was roasted malt and some sweetness. Taste is pretty much like aroma. Some smoky hints also. Finish is dry dark chocolate. I always have trouble appreciating porters. They are nice but I have a hard time finding the complexity in them. Nice brew ! 8,3,8,3,15;3.7. 090306.

Glouglouburp (6103) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - MAY 24, 2009
In short: A well rounded smooth porter that has a bit of everything and a little too much sweetness.
How: Bottle 50cl. Consumed fresh, 1.5 years before best-before date.
The look: Black body topped by a medium light-brown head with medium retention
In long: This is a porter with plenty of flavour elements and none coming out strong. Medium roastiness, some roasted coffee beans, some black chocolate, some dark fruits, some vanilla, some roasted wood, good leafy hops presence. Body is slightly fluffy and very full for a 5% brew. Carbonation is a lot of very soft bubbles. Mouthfeel is cushiony. A superior session porter that could be excellent if a little less sweet. Another good brew from this fine brewery who like to nice session beers and put double-dots on their vowels.
