Bottle, courtesy of unknown Swedes at ZBF 2006, shared with John White on Eurostar back to London, March 2006. Jet black, no head and low condition. Soft sweet liquorice and low coffee notes in the nose, gentle bitter chocolate powder, some sweet low liquorice and a gentle roasted bitterness in the mouth, delicate buttery sweetness and bitter chocolate notes in the finish.

UPDATED: FEB 19, 2009 Sample from bottle, at Porterfestivalen in Gothenburg 071110. Black/dark brown color with light brown head. Roasted/burned aroma with coffee, earth, licorice, dark fruit, and smoky notes. Tastes of roasted/burned malt, coffee, dark chocolate, liquorice, smoke and light sourish notes.

Bottle from Systembolaget. Black with a rich off-white head. Mellow, round aroma with chocolate and ripe fruit. Well-balanced flavor with a lot of malt and the bitterness it takes to stand up to it. Very good porter.

UPDATED: AUG 21, 2008 Cask At Stockholm Beer Festival. Double checked with the brewer and this is actually 5.9% ... Deep black ... Very ovaltine malt ... some roast malts aroma ... sweet and smooth ... again ovaltine malts and sweet roast malts. good balanced porter.

Bottle. Pours a black colour. Very roasty almost burned malty aroma. Cramy mouthfeel. Flavour of well roasted malt, dark fruits, some bitter chocolate and hops. Burned sweetish finish. I did suspect more from this brew.

Draught at the Helsinki Beer Festival 2007. Black color with creamy head. Coffee, leather and solvent in the aroma. Malty and roasty flavor with coffee and charcoal. Dry charcoal finish.
