Bottle, Oliver Twist Close to black. Firm smallish light brown head. A strongly coffee-like porter with very roasty flavours and tiny brown sugar notes. Not Nyna’s best mouthfeel imo, a bit unfilling, a certain creaminess, yet expanding, foamy palate. No chocolate noted. Dryish finish with tobacco nuances and almost no fruitiness. Simpler than I anticipated. I don’t quite understand the high scores.. well it’s dark. anders37 (27907) - Malmö, SWEDEN - MAY 4, 2007
Draught @ Bishop’s Arms, Malmö. Pours a black color with a longlasting tan head. Roasted malty aroma with hints of coffee and chocolate. Roasted malty chocolate flavor with some hints of coffee. Sweet roasted malty finish with some hints of coffee in the aftertaste. Jukkabro (3484) - Tampere, FINLAND - APR 18, 2007
(Draught) As black as can be, big beige head. Licorice dominates in aroma with hoppy bitterness, nice roasted coffee is also rich there. Nice aroma. Medium bodied. Flavor has even stronger roastiness with licorice and sweet caramel, I like this. Hops come up in drying aftertaste. Biting palate. lgklotet (437) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - MAR 24, 2007
UPDATED: AUG 22, 2007 Draught at Glenfiddich Warehouse 68, Stockholm. Very full and rich, with roasty goodness. Sort of sharp though..

Bottle. Low white and quickly disappearing head. Pitch black body. Powerful cocoa coffee aroma. Flavor as indicated by the aroma. Some bitterness and a bit of alcohol. MiP (16083) - Sønderborg, DENMARK - JAN 4, 2007
2005 bottle at SBWF 06. Wood and vanilla aroma with a little alcohol. Black colour, small creamy brown head. Nice flavour, not overly powerful, but with all the right stuff. Nice, well-creamed coffee flavour. Bitter chocolate aftertaste. Semi-thick mouthfeel. Quite nice indeed. chriso (7536) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - DEC 29, 2006
Bottle, at Kookfest, September 2006. Thanks to Per for this one. Very dark brown colour, verging on black. Smoky malt and tobacco in the aroma. More burnt malt, liquorice and touches of chocolate on the finish. Decent but I didn’t really discern anything exceptional.

Bottle @ Kookfest. Milky coffee flavouurs with liquorice and fruit. Quite drinkable, but it felt like something was missing? duff (5486) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - SEP 24, 2006
Rover, Göteborg. I thought this was a very good porter. Black colour. Aroma shows some lightly vinous characters, with chocolate and licorice aswell as some dark fruit. Palate is lightly sweet, with some dark fruit characters, but then shows some nice mocha/roasted malt characters and then some lighty citric hops in the finish, some tobacco in there aswell. Mildly bitter. Nice.
