Crosling (1864) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - MAY 25, 2008
Dark pour, nearly black, with a dark tan, frothy head of foam. Invigorating nose shows hints of dried chocolate, smoke, leather and dark fruit. Incredibly flavorful for a 6.6% beer, lots of taste. Hints of chocolate, smoke, tobacco and dried dark fruit. The most impressive part is the finish, which lasts nearly 30 seconds. An amazing recipe and also carefully brewed. Lovely black, oily viscosity. Dark foam and nice lacing. A bit tart aroma with hints of liquorice/ ammonium chloride, a tar smokiness, and julmust (Swedish root beer style soda for Christmas). Powerful on the palate. First some fruit then tar pastille, raw liquorice (root), and coffee. A well balanced bitterness emerge from below which gives the dry finish a nice timbre. A really heavy stout both in taste and character. A bit thin body though.

[On tap at Bishops Arm, Vasagatan, Stockholm] Pours black with thick, creamy head. Smooth chocolate aroma with gentle vanilla notes. Smooth and rounded mouth-feel. Flavour is coffee, chocolate, liquorice and nougat, wonderful, and it all ends with a well-balanced roastiness. Excelllent beer. DrBeer (862) - Solna Stockholm, SWEDEN - JUN 17, 2010
Aroma with notes of vanilla, fruit and syrup. Fresh and lively.
Big flavour of marengue and fruit. Bitter. Franzen (647) - SWEDEN - NOV 9, 2013
Nice smoky, charcutery aroma with some ryebread, wet wood (sauna) and coffee.
Pitch black with thick beige head
Faint malt sweetness in the beginning, smoke and charceturies in the interlude finished of with a really nice round bitterness
Full body, creamy with low carbonation
This really is a fantastic stout. A pity the bottle is so small, I want more
