Bottle, bought @ YNWA. cgarvieuk (25987) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - OCT 3, 2007
Really impressive pour - almost black with a gigantic creamy beige head on top. It fizzes away very slowly. Aroma is filled to the brink with deep, dark chocolate and a roasted tobacco note. Mouthfeel is rather nice, a little thin perhaps, but it is only 3,8 %... There is still a good carbonation. Impressive flavour for a beer that shouldn’t even have been able to age this long! Sweetish chocolate dominate between some smokiness and light coffee notes. Very dry feel. Though the hops are long gone, the roasted coffee tones take over nicely to balance the sweet chocolate. I’m just really impressed that a 3,8 % beer in not oxidized at all. Wonderful!
Bottle at Stockholm beer festival ... Deep black ... sweet ovaltine malts some tobaco ... rich malt ... some tobacco some bitter chocolate ... bit over powering esp for how late on i had it. Skinnyviking (9720) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - SEP 28, 2007
Draught. Low and quickly disappearing light brown head. Wauw this is black my man. Nice coffee aroma. Pretty heavily carbonated and hoppy coffee flavor. Long coffee aftertaste. Feels a bit thin though. Svesse (8803) - Hässelby, SWEDEN - SEP 2, 2007
(Draught at Bishop’s Arm, Järntorget, Gothenburg, 1 Aug 2007) Pitch black colour with brief brown head. Roasted nose with tobacco, chocolate and black coffee. Roasted taste with notes of tobacco, liquorice and black bitter coffee. A bit like unsweetened, black, cold coffee. Dry, rather thin body. Very nice one, but some more backbone wouldn’t hurt. Draught. Black with mocha colored head. Chocolate and roasted malt, almost soot in taste.. Quite thin, being a stout. Some sweetness.

Bottle at Haket-Göteborg, shared with a bunch of RBs. Pitch black with a nice, creamy head. The aroma has massive chocolate notes and the flavour is hoppy, has a lot of chocolate, a light sweetness and a lot of coffee. The body is surprisingly full, and I’m a sucker for beers with a lot of flavour even if the ABV is low, so I gets extra points for this and it’s charm!! 2372 Ethereal (2471) - Los Angeles, California, USA - JUN 3, 2007
UPDATED: JUL 2, 2009 Bottle at a restaurant in Malmo, 19th May 09. Very near black, small tan head. Soft roasted malt aroma. Typical roasted, toasty flavour. Quite dry. Overall a decent dry stout - far better than when I originally tried it in Malmo a couple of years before (original rate was a 1.9 on draught at the Bishops Arms) FatPhil (17080) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - MAY 14, 2007
UPDATED: JAN 31, 2013 Bottle (Pikkulintu, Helsinki, Svenska Dagar 2006).
Smells almost lagery. Definitely a beer, but says "light". Which is odd, as it is black, and has a beautiful dark head. The first taste disappoints - it just has 1 strong very burnt flavour, but no depth. Subsequently comes over as more of an Irish stout. OK.(4:5:5:3:9=2.6)Moz (613) - Gothenburg, SWEDEN - APR 12, 2007
Rerate (Hilpea Haukki)
nice rich stout. needs a reraqte
Bottle (4%). Black colour with a greyish brown head. Roasted coffee aroma, rather sweet with notes of caramel, toffee & smoke. Roasted & yeasty flavour, a bit sourish, with a decent bitterness in the end. Light carbonation. It’s a bit too thin... motelpogo (8031) - Plzen, CZECH REPUBLIC - FEB 11, 2007
rbesg06, bottle at haket, served at room temperature. very black with a small but lasting brown head. sweaty aroma with traces of figs and cocoa powder. quite mild, for a while i was disappointed that this didn’t have more oomph but i grew to appreciate it. faintly salty, roasted bitter finish
