A 2001 Silver Medal Winner at the North American Brewers' Association competition. A deep-copper colored medium - bodied ale. Its fresh flavor is smooth and carefully balanced with a nice mellowness and hint of caramel malt balanced by medium hop bitterness. It is an all malt beer that is naturally carbonated. A very drinkable beer all on its own and pairs well with all kinds of foods.

Served on tap at the North Rim, Grand Canyon lodge. Aroma was a nice mix of sweet malts with a fruity hue. Coloring was a rich amber with a light head and lacing that held up. Taste was malty with a slightly nutty twist and moderate to light hopping. The mouthfeel was decent. Overall, I thought this was a nice amber that complemented the view overlooking the Grand Canyon.

Taster. Light Amber with minimal head. Light on flavor, not much hop or malt presence... Weak batch?

Nice pour, with dark copper color and light head, small bubbles. Light lacing. Aroma light and malty (biscuity), good enough. Overall, too sweet, and not a caramel dark molasses sweetness, instead its like a corn syrupy taste or something - adjuncts? Its a bit cloying, but malt backbone is present and fine overall.

Location: Draft at the Brewpub, 3/3/14

Aroma: The aroma is kind of dull, some caramel notes, bread, and not much else
Appearance: It pours an amber color, mostly clear, with an off-white head
Flavor: The flavor is much the same: a little malty and kind of dull, not much hop presence
Palate: The body is light and clean, fairly smooth, soft, and with a shorter finish
Overall Impression: I thought this was a fairly unexciting one. It wasnt an example of the style that I thought was particularly good. It is just kind of a dull beer.

Pour on tap at the brewery, clear orange pour with white head, aroma brought notes of bread, watery cardboard, biscuit, hints of slight caramel with a touch of grass. Taste was a mix of grass, bread, biscuit into a bit of grain, husk, cereal, finishing slightly sweet.

Tried this in Sedona as part of my buy local concept. No head and low carbonation. Big notes of rotted detritus and card board. Had a syrupy caramel flavor undertone.

Draft @ the brewpub. Pours clear amber color with off white head. Malty and doughy aromas and flavors. Medium body with average carbonation.

[Bottle] Clear copper pour with a huge amount of fizzy head that condenses down to nothing in a few seconds. Aromas of caramel, toffee and oxidation/paper. Sweet grains, stale grassy hops, soap, cardboard and some vegetable notes in the flavor. Very overcarbonated. Thinking I may have had a bad bottle, so I will try to re-rate at some point. As is, this is damn near a drain pour. Tasting notes from 8/2014.

Poured from 12 fl oz bottle. Clear, golden amber with quickly dissipating off white head. Biscuit and toffee malt with a bit of caramel. Very thin body, almost watery, slight oil texture. Nice flavour, but far too light.

"another non-offensive but very simplistic brew from Oak Creek. I enjoyed it more than several other beers Ive rated right around, but its just too simple (like a carmel malt kit) to score average or better. really no hops to speak of, maybe even less than the brown. Semi-sweet malt flavor is a little muddled. Again, not a bad beer, but like something one would make with a kit."
