A Gold medal winner in the 2002 North American Brewers' Association competition, this richly gold-colored lager beer has a crisp hop note. It maintains its zest and balance of hops and malt from start to finish. It is a cold lagered and naturally carbonatedall-malt beer. It is very versatile beer that can be enjoyed alone or with nearly any type of food.

Pour on tap at the brewery, clear yellow pour with white head, aroma brought notes of grain, biscuit, bread, slight honey into a bit of grass, slight yeasty note. Taste was a mix of grass, earth, touch of yeast, hints of biscuit, vanilla, finishing watery, slightly sweet.

PorterPounder (8355) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - AUG 6, 2006
On tap at the Oak Creek Brewery and Grill. Medium golden pour, crisp, bubbly white head. Aroma pretty neutral with some fresh lake water accents coming through. Clean, crisp lager flavor. Good balance of hops and malt and it finishes with a good hoppy bite. Very refreshing sitting out on the patio on a hot Sedona afternoon.

Bottle courtesy of cbkschubert: Pours a transparent orange bronze with a thin, wispy-lacing white head. Grainy pale malty aroma has some light strawberry and caramel notes. Body starts slightly thin with some grainy pale malty flavor and a touch of floral noble hops and lager yeast character. Slightly better than most pale lagers, but still pretty bland.

kramer (6975) - Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 27, 2006
12 oz bottle, via FlacoAlto, labeled as "Gold Lager". Pours a deep gold colored body with a minimal and quickly disappearing white head. Nose is showing alot of DMS, just like opening up a can of creamed corn. Beyond that maybe a little toasted malt. Flavor is just as thin as can be, with a corn flavored finish and minimal to no hoppiness. Typical Pale Lager Mouthfeel, thin and fizzy with a dry finish. This is just another in the long storied history of flavorless Pale Lagers.
