Tap at Pony Bar. I didn’t like this as much as the regular Arrogant Bastard, but it was still quite good. Pours dark amber with a strong, orange head. Malty aroma with notes of alcohol, wood, and maple. Flavor is sweet and relaxed, with strong maple notes and alcohol presence. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Finishes with mild bitterness. Good.

Brown color wih nice generous head and nice lace. The aroma features mainly harmonious vanilla and some oxidisation. The mouthfeel is very smooth, well blended, with caramel flavor and nice Bourbon vanilla; more dark caramel later. Maybe less impact and freshness in the final. Still good, I wouldn’t age it more.

2009-11-09, bottle at Bishop’s Arms, Vasagatan, Stockholm, 7-5-7-4-14=37
Hazy dark amber color; small head. Rough aroma: alcohol, dust, sweat, yeast. Strong body, caramel flavor, harsh hop resins; not enough fruity or sweet.

Dark brown color; creamy persistent head. Beautiful aroma, where the hop is melting into sweet caramel and vanilla. The body is well structured, malty and caramel flavor, but I was expecting more sweetness at the end. Bold bitterness of course, but not enough exciting. Pleasant but controversial.

Getrunken beim RB Treffen in Düsseldorf am 6.1.07 Malzig aromatischer Geruch, leicht süßlich. Sehr schwerer Geschmack, tief röstmalzern, man spürt einen alkoholischen Touch. Im nachgeschmack dagegen sehr hopfig, dabei leicht rauchig, gut gelungen. Test vom 7.1.2007, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 12,14,10,12,11,12 - 11,95

Bottle at HogTownHarry Fest ’08. The second beer from Harry’s box of delights. Lovely hop, some sour oak. That’s not quite right. Doesn’t quite go together. That slight sour/oak thing makes me think that it doesn’t all work out. Bit of vanilla. Decent score cos it is interesting.

Bottle. Nice head with good duration. Color is hazy brown. Aroma and taste are wood, caramel, nuts, smoke and hops. Nice and dry finish.
