Pours a very dark amber with a hazy appearance and a yellowish head that leaves lovely lacing along the glass. Strong malty, caramel presence in the nose, a bit of the citrusy hops as well. The flavor is all malt up front, sweet and strong, almost overwhelming the tongue until the also formidable hops rush in and finish off the ale with a powerful resiny, oaky finish. Despite its incredible potency, the beer is almost perfectly balanced and leaves the drinker wanting more. Possibly my favorite beer. badmansam (58) - Greater London, ENGLAND - MAR 11, 2013
Keg @ Exmouth Arms 2013/3/6. Such a great beer and a real surprise and treat to find it on draught. Credit to Barworks for making that happen. thegreat78 (42) - San Marcos, California, USA - NOV 2, 2007
This poured a deep amber with a robust 3+ finger off white head and a nice amount of carbonation coming up. The foam is leaving a nice lacing all the way down my glass. The nose is big and wonderful, woody, citrusy and a bit of spice. Very hoppy beer with nice pine and grapefruit notes. The mouthfeel is robust and creamy. This is a delicious beer OD40oz (774) - Box Elder, South Dakota, USA - APR 22, 2009
I had this brought up for me from Arizona. I was pumped to give this one a shot. Pours a slightly hazy dark amber with a frothy tan head. Hops were grassy smelling with a hint of citrus. Excellent hoppy ale taste with a nice smoked woody finish. Very crisp palate. I thought this was a great beer but I liked the original bastard more. BeeriedEyed (211) - USA - DEC 25, 2010
UPDATED: JAN 8, 2011 Arrogant Bastard is one of the best ales around, but when you age it in oak the outcome is perfect. A must if you can find.

12oz bottle poured in frozen mug. Dark mahogany in color with a dark eggshell, khaki head. Head was thick and light. Aroma oak, hops, and fruit. Very malty, pine, walnut, slight vanilla, grapefruit. Leaves you with a sweetness, slight alcohol warming and lasting prominent but not overpowering bitterness. Dry finish. Highly recommended. Pretty much amazing. really love this, served in a snifter, on draft, i enjoy arrogant bastard, but this takes it to another level. If you have a chance to get this beer, grab one. Worth the money. beerunion (2) - - JUN 9, 2012 does not count
Oaked arrogant bastard gets 5 stars from the beer drinkers union. We recently had a fresh taste of it by visiting Stone Brewery in Escondido. Had a great time with exceptional brews. The great oak hoppy flavor of this beer is exceptional and very smooth. WeissGary (286) - Glasgow, SCOTLAND - OCT 16, 2012
Pours a deep dark ruby red body, little to no head. A malty and wood like aroma. Upfront bitter fruit taste, lovely caramel middle taste, bitter hoppy aftertaste. This is an amazing beer from an amazing brewery; lovely aroma and a well developed taste! MRodgers1982 (111) - USA - SEP 25, 2014
