Hand pulled at the Bartons Arms, Birmingham. Smooth, with a great mouthfeel and superbly consistent right across the chops. Orange and rose notes. Good, as usual, but perhaps within their comfort zone. thepegjett (1260) - Cambridge (via Winnipeg), Cambridgeshire, ENGLAND - NOV 5, 2011

Cask conditioned at The Pub, Leicester. Amber with white head. Dry biscuity malt body leading to a bright bittersweet hop character. Full and refreshing, very pleasant. dynamiteninja (1864) - Norfolk, ENGLAND - NOV 1, 2010

Fruity and toasty aroma with a little sweet sherry. Crystal clear amber with no top. Pleasant toasted malt flavour, biscuity and with soda crackers. Medium bitterness. Nutty and dried fruit notes. Light to medium body with mild carbonation and a little lasting bitterness.

Cask conditioned - handpump - Out Of The Vaults, Leicester. A copper coloured beer with a whitish head. The aroma has piney hops which transfer through to the taste. A lovely balance to this beer which has more body than most Oakhams and has a real US APA feel to it. Excellent and tasty. duff (5484) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - MAR 16, 2007

Ear BF 06. Smells like a mandarin, quite citric. Quite a malty sweetness to start, and then the citric/orange/mandarin hop flavours come in. Lightly bitter.
Cask (handpull) Flowerpot, Derby. Easy, easy bitter. Oakham forgot to madly hop this one... and for once it was the right decision. Some gentle orange aroma, soft caramel melts to a drying finish. chriso (7533) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - FEB 11, 2007
Cask (gravity dispense), Pigs Ear Beer Festival, London, December 2006. Slightly hazy amber colour (although this was the last of the barrel and not enough remained to get a full half pint, so I’ll make some allowances). Not a typical Oakham beer. Doesn’t have the flowery hop attack that one expects. Comes over more as a fairly standard, if quite soft, best bitter. Dabs of smooth malt and touches of citrus on the palate. Pleasant enough but nothing really leaps out to grab the attention. Not one of my favourite Oakham beers.

Cask handpull at Evening Star, Brighton. Amber, lasting beige head. Moderate aromatic hop, bit of smoke. Fruity in mouth. Bit underdeveloped. Rich malt and tehn grassy strongish hop. Bit dusty too. Bit of spice. Oddly cobbled together beer, nutmeg on finish? Not sure it all works.
