Cask at Our Mutual Friend, Stevenage. Straw with a thin cream head; sweet and grainy aroma; smooth oily texture, swet and grainy flavour with a hint of tropical fruit; the finish is dry with some quinine bitterness and warming, spicy, alcohol. More of a Barley Wine in my opinion.

Cask by hand-pump at State Bar, Glasgow - clear golden amber, thin creamy off-white head, fruity aroma with a hint of elderflower, excellent film of thin lacing, very sweet, fruity, tropical fruits, oily texture, noticeable alcohol presence

UPDATED: FEB 8, 2009 Feb 2004 White Cliffs Winter Ales Fest. Gravity. A huge and very pleasant barley wine - a big rush of pale malt, splendidly and gently sweet, perfectly balanced with a delicate and floral hop envelope. Nice indeed. [3.2]
Feb 2004 White Cliffs Winter Ales Fest. Gravity. Pale colour. White Lily beer. Pleasant. [3.6]

Tried at the Strait and Narrow, Lincoln. Golden colour with a white head. Aroma is slightly Sour fruit. Taste sweet then mid sour. Ok but not great.

Cask in the new crown. Alround rating: Aroma when fresh on it an excellent mix of citrusy pineapple goodness, sweet pale malts, small toffee appleness too as it has been on a day or two. Taste is similarly flavoured and excellently balanced for the %, massivly dangerously drinkable stuff.

duff (5486) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - OCT 24, 2004
UPDATED: OCT 29, 2004 [email protected] BF. Nose is quite aromatic with fresh tropical, lightly piney hops (some alcohol aswell). Palate starts off with fresh, with some kiwi fruit, finishing with some appley alcohol, well balanced, with a medium bitterness.

On draught at The Coronet, Holloway Rd. Clear golden colour, frothy head. Fruity hop aroma. Flavours are a good blend of fruity hops and toffee malts. Raisins and apples are there, too. Nice

Cask @ The Edward Wyllie JDW. Pale golden yellow, not much head. Very mild fruity aroma. strong elderflower & alcohol flavour. Perfumey alcohol aftertaste. Not my sort of beer.

BeerViking (5125) - Brentford, Greater London, ENGLAND - AUG 5, 2009
UPDATED: DEC 29, 2017 Cask/gravity at GBBF 2009. Pours a rich gold with good condition but almost no head. Honey, orange and apricots on the nose, a big fruity and sweetish warming body with a good sharp bitter tang and a citrus and peppery hops finish. Re-rate cask at the Magpie, a little haze but also a lasting coarse white foam. Still tangy-bitterness over warming fruity-sweetness. Lovely.

3.4
RichardGretton (4860) - Leicestershire, ENGLAND - FEB 8, 2009
[email protected] Newark Winter Beer Festival, 2009. Golden/amber coloured beer with a fruity and vinous aroma and flavour. Overall an average beer.
