Cask and bottle; Regular. 4.2% in cask. 4.6% in bottle.

The first of our single hop variety beers. We were the first brewery in the UK to use Citra. The beer proved so popular that we will be brewing it again. Permanent from January 2011.
A light refreshing beer with pungent grapefruit, lychee and gooseberry aromas leading to a dry, bitter finish.

Cask-conditioned at the Wellington, Birmingham 31/08/10. Deep gold in colour with a slight white head. Big, tropical fruit aroma with some sweetness. Flavour was big on the fruit, with grapefruit, tangerines and pineapple with a hoppy, dry finish. Good, but a bit too much going on for me.

Cask handpump consumed at The Three Fishes, Shrewsbury 28.08.10 Pours gold with a large white head. To start there is lovely softened grapefruit that contributes to a wonderful bitterness, but then you get some cooked lemons, it’s crisp and refreshing and really interesting drinking this side by side with the Salopian Jigsaw. Tricky to rate in a pub that is totally rammed with a Morris rapper side just about to dance in the pub. A6 A5 T7 P4 Ov13 3.5

UPDATED: AUG 18, 2014 Cask conditioned handpump Bartons Arms Birmingham. A bright gold coloured beer with a thin whitish head and lacing. A delicious beer with a spicy, prickly hoppy aroma with the merest hints of toffee. Nice and hoppy in the mouth with good grapefruit notes. Really tasty and scrummy. Good beer, good hop, good brewery. Score 3.9

A Mes rate. Cask in the Barton Arms.
Fuck me, what a great start to the day. This one really has got the lot. Perfect clean gold, very good bright white head and in utterly glorious condition. Pungent Citra aroma with a really good earthy malt base. All the same in the mouth. Fantastic lemon and grapefruit, glorious bitterness and just bloody adorable all round. Love it.

bobinlondon (1297) - Harrow, Greater London, ENGLAND - APR 30, 2010
UPDATED: SEP 17, 2013 Gravity cask at Reading BF. Pale gold with a lively white head. Typical quality hop parcel from Oakham. Lemon and grapefruit hop bitterness are there in force though the single hop variety creates a less complex profile than is usually the case from this brewer. Excellent balance by the buscuity malt backbone. 3.8/5 Superb!. Rerate after many l more pints on numerous occasions. This beer is consistantly excellent in cask and bottle. 4.3/5

Cask, gravity, at The Cambridge Blue, Cambridge. Pale gold with a small white head. Delicate floral hop aroma with some citrus. Pineapple and citrus in the taste. Mid bitter finish. Not my favourite style, but I acknowledge and pay tribute to the crisp subtlety and precise detailing of this one.

Cask, The Pub, Leicester. Golden with a small off-white foam. Aromas are very floral with lots of fresh, green hops. Resinous grapefruit and lemon. Very hoppy and well perfumed. Flavours are crisp citrus with resinous, bitter grapefruit. Has a real bite to it. Dry on the finish. Very good.
