Cask, gravity, at Pigs Bear Festival 10 at The Pig n Falcon, St Neots, Cambridgeshire. Dark amber. Sour fruits in the aroma as well as malt. Thick, spicy rounded malt taste, full of hiddenh depths: fruit pastilles, leather, redcurrant. Mid bitter finish. You could analyse this too much.

Hand pulled at the Criterion, Leicester. Really hardcore hops. Varnished finish, lasting and tart. The hop is sweet to start with, with a double IPA style flavour. Chestnut colour. Challenging and full.

UPDATED: MAR 20, 2009 Cask in the boat in peterborough just next to the festival. Alround rating: Fruity yeastyness, appley, alcoholic peppery notes, spicey toffeeness. RERATE: Cask in the new crown. Alround rating: aroma is soo fruity, like plums and pears, lychee and orange. Taste is fuller and fruityness is key. Alround a great beer that was very unexpectitly good.

Cask at the New Crown (JDW) in Southgate. Thanks Magicdave! Dark amber. Great malty caramel flavour. Rich, full bodied yet very drinkable. A great example of a strong ale.

Cask-conditioned at the Commercial Rooms (JDW), Bristol 16/09/09. Murky brown colour wih a decent off-white head. Big, hoppy aroma with plenty of fruit and some earthiness. Fairly easy drinking despite the strength and multitude of flavours - sweet doughy malts, red fruit, citrus hops and a long, bitter finish. Full of character and great stuff.

Cask at Gallows XIII Real Ale Fest. Clear, bronze body, moderately bitter taste with lightly astringent finish. Complex aromas have caramel, flowers, pine and leather.

Scopey (13309) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUN 20, 2016
Cask at The George, Croydon. Doesnt look like this one has been around for a while! It pours clear rich mahogany brown with a thick white head. The aroma is rich, wood, leather, fruit cake, raisin, sultana, touch of bubblegum even, light spice and resin. The taste is smooth, wood, leather, brown bread, resin, marmalade, touch of spice, touch of citrus peel and toffee with a dry, wood finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Well rounded and drinks rather easy. I am a fan.

Cask (gravity dispense), White Cliffs Best Festival. Attractive bronzed copper colour. Big Pacific North-West hop aroma - flowery and aromatic. Powerful grapefruit flavour with some tropical fruit notes. Theres some malt providing and almost chocolate touch in the background. Sharp, resinous hop finish, tending towards astringent. Could easily be mistaken for an American beer and there are not too many British beers you could say that about. Assured and impressive.
