Pigs Ear Day 1. Cask. Clear amber beer, a few pale cream colour bubbles. Palate is light and has a decent fine crispness. Clean malts, mildly tangy caramel. Tangy dried fruits. Mild orange peel, a light citric zip. Light finish. Decent.
Cask @ Old Chapel, Darwen. Copper-gold with a small head. Malty bitter that’s quite light in its character. ladnewton (1964) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - DEC 27, 2015
Cask at the Last Post, Southend-on-Sea on 23rd December 2015. Copper with an off-white part lacing film. Malt aroma with savoury nuttiness. Nutty and biscuit malty in-mouth. A malty, then bitter, finish. Zingy mouthfeel and medium body afford easy drinking. purpledragons (60) - Shrewsbury, Shropshire, ENGLAND - DEC 20, 2015
On cask at The Salopian Bar in Shrewsbury. Amber, with a frothy head. Malty, but still very hoppy. Bitter orange and some slightly burnt malt flavours. Very quaffable.

medium bodied mid brown tight offwhite head, fairly decent bitterness, fruity, easy drinking
Cask at Pig’s Ear 2015. It pours clear deep amber with a small white head. The nose is toasty, warming, bitter-sweet, caramel, brown bread, fruity cake, earth, raisin and candied peel. The taste is bitter, spicy, resin, waxy grapefruit, varnish, pine, mild astringency, pithy action and pepper with a dry, sort of spiced finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Overall not bad for what it is, but quite basic for Oakham. BeerViking (4792) - Brentford, Greater London, ENGLAND - DEC 8, 2015
Cask at the Shakespeare’s Head JDW. Light brown with a lasting foam, fruity malt nose, pleasantly hoppy with earthy spice and tropical fruit notes over a lightly toffeed and faintly toasty malt base. Rune (12777) - Tromsø, NORWAY - DEC 7, 2015
Half pint, cask at William Wilberforce (JDW), shared with Finn. Clear dark brown in body colour. Rich lacing blanketing the glass. Smell of dark berries and caramel malts. Blended taste profile of dark malts, black currant and some kind of spices. Ends with a malt-fruity touch. Medium to thin bodied. Works fine for me (Hull 25.11.2015).
