Tart gooseberry and soft peach on the nose. Gooseberries and fruit to taste, before an intense bitterness that’s as sharp as a macaw’s screech!

Bottle. Great beer by Oakham! Beautiful deep golden colour with white foam. Aromas of fruits, hops, hint of caramel and malts. Taste: very fresh and clean. Citrus fruits, damsons, caramel, honey, and a gingery, bitter finale! Delicious and very drinkable, this is a little gem of a beer!!

Cask at Market Porter. Pours amber with slight head. Aroma of fruit (peach and grape) bit of brown sugar and fresh hops. All subtle nothing overpowering the other. Ver well balanced. Similar for the taste. I still get some slight sweetness but more field and slight fruit. Light Med palate, easy to drink because it is so fuckin good.

Bottle from Waitrose. Pours orange-amber colour with a half finger white head. Medium to low carbonation. Aroma of spices, caramel, toffee, some fruits. Initial fruits, orange, lemon, some raisin and plum too, raisins perhaps moreso, then caramel, toffee, a little chewy, bready, biscuity bitter finish, nice.

Bottle from Beermerchants. Pours almost clear deep golden with a big nice looking white head. Aroma is weak fruity, peach. Taste is more hop oriented, slick and smooth creamy mouthfeel. Light sweet malty body, refreshing weak crisp hops, dry long finish, nice.

Bottle at Dino’s Restaurant and Pub in Mariehamn, Åland, Finland sep-14. Intense bitterness in USA-style, lots and lots of citrushoppyness. Too much for me though. A medium beer with too heavy citrtus bitterness. All other tastes disappears.

0.5 bottle. Clear, gold color and a small, white head. Delicate aroma of mango, pineapple, and some spices. Taste is quite delicate, fruity, somewhat hoppy but with no recognizable characteristics. Medium body, slick texture, and flat carbonation. Finish is pleasant and soothing but medium long at best, also quite hoppy. Overall a standard blond ale, nothing to put in a spotlight apart from its hoppy bitterness.

Bottle - dark amber with a foamy beige head. Aroma of mango, passion fruit, orange, fresh grass and some notes of spices including coriander seeds. Taste is roasty and toasty with orange, tangerine and passion fruits, light hints of smoke, toffee, grass and medium bitterness in the finish. Medium body, low carbonation. Amazing.

16.9 oz. bottle into a Stella glass BB date smudged but appears to be a cpl months past. A: 3.5 Amber/orange slightly hazy appearance. Poured to a small tight eggshell head. Lacing retention is good in the center of the beer and edges of the glass. Little lasting visible carbonation. I like the color. S: 3.25 Slight fruity bite on the nose with a malty backbone. Interesting balance. T: 3.0 Immediate citrus pith whether orange or grapefruit. The same malt bready sweetness is still in place but the pithy hops seem to dominate. Not bad and kind of different but more hop complexity would have been good. Not to tone down the hops but just to add another dimension. The citrus pith gets a bit old after a while. M: 3.5 Saves this review. A little soapy, very slightly chewy both of which I like. Carbonation is subdued but there and enjoyable. Surprisingly not much of a lingering aftertaste. I’ll call this a positive in this case. Does go down good! O: 3.25 A surprising and different brew. The hop taste is too one dimensional. I like the citrus punch but too much astringency inside. Low 4.8% ABV says sessionable but I don’t think I’d like to drink many of these in one sitting. Overall, nice and glad I tried it but not one I’ll return to.
