Bottle from Waitrose. I normally like Oakham’s beers, and this was no exception. Bright amber in colour, fruity hoppy nose. Summer fruits and a lingering bitterness. Great level of carbonation - not too fizzy. Cracking beer. Must buy more.
I like Oakham beers although there isn’t a lot of variety - the pine/citrus/tartness is a characteristic of most, if not all. Scarlet Macaw is perfectly drinkable, but on this occasion I was left with the distinct impression that it is at the lower end of the Oakham offerings in flavour and freshness. Citra still reigns supreme. Scarlet Macaw, in comparison, is a bit lifeless, flat and quite stale. Beautiful colour though! robthewulf (3) - Wolverhampton, West Midlands, ENGLAND - JUN 9, 2017 does not count
500ml bottle. Good on the nose, plenty of citrus and lingering aftertaste. Excellent accompiment to savoury dishes and cheese particularly. hohops (983) - Kent, ENGLAND - MAY 17, 2017

On tap (cask) at Williamson’s Tavern, Bank (London) on 27-Mar-2017. Clear golden colour with a large white head. Aroma of malt, cereal, herbs and pine. Light body and soft carbonation. Taste of caramel, orange, grapefruit and biscuit malt. Smooth and creamy. Light bittersweet fruity finish. Good session ale. fiulijn (20411) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - MAR 20, 2017

Hazy golden color. Weedy hops in the aroma. Cereal flavor, some chamomile, some weed hops; definitively old, stale, but not bad.
Cask pint at Tennant’s on Byres Road, Glasgow. A light golden colour. Sizable head. fiery_1 (927) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - MAR 9, 2017
500ml bottle @ Matt’s. Pours a clear orange copper colour with no head. Nose is unpleasant something with malty backing. Flavour is not much better, herbal and bitter. Sadly I just have to say no :( mcberko (17178) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - MAR 9, 2017
500mL bottle, pours a clear golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out boiled vegetables and biscuity malt. Flavour is a little better, with herbal hops. light vegetal notes, and biscuity malt. Better on the palate than the nose. It’s decent. theprof (931) - Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, ENGLAND - FEB 24, 2017
Cask. Pours honey gold with white foam top. Aroma straw and pale malt. Taste dry pine bitter with a background of tropical fruits that sour on the palate and thus accentuating the bitterness. There are others in the Oakham stable that I prefer Lagerboy (2189) - British Columbia, CANADA - FEB 23, 2017
500 ml bottle. Clear lighter copper, mostly fading loose white foam. Fruity berry aroma, some spice. Taste is berry fruity, lean pale malt, earthy grassy bitter hop. Softer carbonation, light-medium bodied, moderately hopped. LBW (Lagerboys Be Wary)
