Cask handpull at The Barton Arms, Aston. Bit of earthy hop on the aroma. Lots of tangerine fruit. You can taste the alcohol which is not a good sign. Although others enjoyed this. It is not my favourite Oakham beer. And the other beers on the JHB, Bishops Farewell and the Citra were all so stunning, it rather put this in the shade. Cask at George, Croydon. It pours clear golden yellow with a medium white head. The nose is pissy hops, bitter-sweet aspect, tropical fruit, candy and freshly cut grass. The taste is crisp, bitter-sweet, mango, grapefruit, straw, floral, fruit salad sweets, resin and light alcohol bite with a lingering bitter finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Balance, flavour and drinkability are all spot on. A delight to drink!
