[cask at Cloisters, Edinburgh] Clear amberish gold, takes a while to settle out. Certainly means business. Very grapefruity on the nose, along with some sweet caramel and resin. Lots of that resin on the flavour, sweet fruit like peach and apricot, but a whole host of bitter lemon. After a while the bitterness takes over and alcohol comes though. Great stuff, really enjoyed the balance of this one [21102012]

berkshirejohn (6612) - Bracknell, Berkshire, ENGLAND - JUN 23, 2009
Cask at the Live and Let Live, Cambridge. Amber with a dense white head; rich, buttery aroma with a hint of apricot and almond; oliy and honeyed in the mouth, with orange fruit and deep sustained bitterness, leading to a rich, chewy, butterscotch finish. Excellent.

maeib (8751) - Wootton, Northampton, Northamptonshire, ENGLAND - OCT 7, 2010
Cask Conditioned Gravity Dispense St Albans BF 2010. A hazy copper gold coloured beer with an off-white rim of head. A good hoppy aroma with peachy citrus notes and pine. A good full bodied beer with nice citrus fruits and good alcohol notes. Typically tasty Oakham

DruncanVeasey (8260) - Nr NUNEATON, Warwickshire, ENGLAND - MAR 16, 2011
Gravity, Leicester 2011. Dusted copper with a generous cream head and lace. Bright, lime jelly and husky malt aroma. Bullying Norweigian floweriness and husk, praline, grapefruit. Slight Southern Comfort, bilious orange bitterness in the finish. Bright hops and husky malt. Alcohol very well concealed- until you start running for the X6. No surprises- up to Oakham’s usual standards.

Cask, Leicester Fest 10. Golden with an off white foam. Aromas are toffee, caramel and grapefruit with woody pine. Flavours are sweet caramel with great sweet oranges, pine and grapefruit in the hops. Dry on the finish. A typically good Oakham.

On cask at Cloisters. Pours a dark golden colour with a thin white head. Aroma of pine, lemon, pineapple, caramel and alcohol. Similar flavours and nicely bitter with mild carbonation and an oily mouth-feel.

Ethereal (2421) - Los Angeles, California, USA - AUG 12, 2011
Cask at the Rake (Oakham mini-fest), 7th Feb 2011. Cloudy light orange. Strong fruity nose. Quite thin palate. Rather flat palate but savouring it in the mouth unleashes the full bittersweet flavour.

Gravicask (PBBF2012, Fri)
Lychee and other sweet fruits. Orange, brief head. Huge fruity body, lychee, peach, even pineapple. Smooth palate, even a little sticky. But there’s a lovely bitter finish that crispens up the mouth nicely. Good balance. Classic Oakham - like it!
