On tap at Bistro BA Fest poured a translucent dark brown with a lingering ring of brown foam. Aromas of roastiness, oak, earthiness, bitter chocolate, light vinous notes and light vanilla. Palate was medium bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Flavors of roastiness, bitter chocolate, vinous notes, oak and light vanilla with a smooth dry roasty finish.

Black in color with a small off-white head. Interesting nose of smoke, licorice, charred oak, wine, and red wine vinegar. Dark fruit notes, sugar, and a hint of coffee. The flavor is fairly fruity with a nice wine note. Fairly tart with some definite vinegar sourness. Roasted malt, a hint of alcohol, oak, and some char. Draft at the Bistro West Coast Barrel Aged Beer Festival. Pours very dark brown/black with a ruddy tan smear. Lots of vinosity for aroma. Full bodied. Flavor is chocolate,oak, smooth burnt malt and a good dose of red berry. Has a sour aspect. Very tasty.
