COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
What happens when two neighboring brewers meet up to make a beer for the sole reason of getting together at one of their favorite Corvallis hangouts and drinking said beer together? Cooperative Suds IPA happens, that’s what.

Nick Arzner from Block 15 in Corvallis and our very own Matt Van Wyk were asked to do a promotional night at Suds & Suds. They figured  that if they were going to spend three hours together, they might as well make a beer.

The beer pours a slightly hazy golden color with a bit of a wispy head. There is a slight soapy aroma (suds, right?) with lots of pine needles, grapefruit, and almost a hint of marijuana. It finishes out on the nose with a very grassy, fresh note. The flavor is quite spicy, which made me think the hops were originally simcoe or summit. It’s dry, crisp and clean with a very faint biscuit/malty flavor. This beer isn’t sweet at all, and it finishes quite spicy and earthy with a flavor that lingers for several minutes after you swallow.

Pint at 16 Tons. Dark golden pour with a solid 2 fingers of white foam but little lacing. Pine and citrus hops along with a slight resinous note meld well with caramel malts in this one, which is all about balance rather than the typical in your face style of west coast ipas. Apropos for a beer that was made by two different breweries.

Tap @ The BeerMongers... Poured hazy, pale golden with a white head. Piney, citrus, some hop spiced bitterness. Well balanced for sure. Sweet malt characters, with a mild yeast character that stayed out of the way of the hop flavors.
