[email protected] Kahootz: Brown color with orange tints. White head and sticky lacing. Boozy aroma with a thick body. Alcohol burn in flavor. Disappointed, needs more complexity.

From the bottle share. Light barley wine with caramel and light booze. At least I think it was this beer.

onceblind (10322) - Denver, Colorado, USA - DEC 8, 2016
Aged 1+ year. Beautiful dark Amber hue under a sticky thin light beige head. Big sweet and sticky nose that’s got nutty English toffee, earthy burnt caramel, oak, booze, cherries and dates, with a bock-like breadiness. Smooth rounded flavor that’s got dates and light cherry tones with English bready toffee and dark caramelized wheaty tones. Light boozy fruity finish.

OldMrCrow (2446) - Seattle, Washington, USA - NOV 30, 2016
2013 bottle opened 11/30/2016.

Toffee pour, modest head. Boozy nose with lots of plum and raisin. Burnt sugar flavors, an almost smoky whisky thing going on, alcohol prominent (one of its flaws) to near cough-syrup levels, aged hops melding nicely but still contributing a little bit of bitter snap to the close. A bit thin and hot in mouthfeel. This is pretty darn tasty, actually. Not a world-beating barleywine but certainly a solid effort.

BuckeyeBoy (8281) - Boise, Idaho, USA - OCT 23, 2016
22oz bottle 2013 vintage pours out a amber copper topped with sand head. Nose is nice sweet malts some pit fruit brown sugar a little woody and some caramel. Taste is more of the sweet malt caramel toffee pitfruit earthy notes. Solid.

drpimento (3734) - La Crosse, Wisconsin, USA - SEP 24, 2016
2013 bottle. And it iza smooth bitter bomb. Thick, cream colored head on a Deep Amber cloudy hue. Fairly well-balanced but no doubt it’s a big barleywine. Aged well

Dogbrick (13547) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - AUG 15, 2016
2015 sample at the Oakshire Public House. Pours a clear dark amber color with a medium off-white head that diminishes gradually to a film. Partial rings of lacing. Roasted malt, fruit and hops in the nose. Full-bodied with flavors of caramel malt, ripe fruit and earthy hops. The finish is mildly boozy with a malty aftertaste. Above average overall.

umich03jm (3513) - Flat Rock, Michigan, USA - MAR 4, 2016
2015 Bottle. Aroma is brown sugar, caramel, figs, and light alcohol. Tastes fairly bitter. Mostly just caramel and figs. Some cardboard too. Dry bitter finish. Alcohol is surprisingly well hidden but something is lacking in flavor. Still pretty decent though.

3.7
deyholla (12033) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - JAN 3, 2016
Sampled from the tap at the taproom. Pours a hazy deep amber with a tan head that dissipates to the edges slowly. Aroma has lots of bread and sweet grain note with just a touch of toffee underlying. Flavor has sweet grains and bread with a bit of toffee and booze supporting.

3.6
Meilby (11641) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - SEP 2, 2015
