Bottle at Wtf 2, pours a dark brown with small beige head. The aroma is roast, wood, bourbon, cherry skin. Medium mouth, nice roast, strong bourbon, tart cherry on the finish, very good.

750, capped. Thanks, J! Pours a murky dark brown with a loose and creamy tannish head. Nose shows moderate tart cherry notes, fading a bit with time. Coffee and dark chocolate in the distant background. Medium thinish body with soft carb. Tart cherry notes predominate on the mid palate, along with plenty of oak, with coffee and dark chocolate in the distant background. Long tart finish. Nice, but out of balance.

Bottle... Pours dark brown with a large, frothy, taupe head. The aroma is fruity and a touch chocolaty with a slight, damp-wood component. Medium-bodied with champagne-like carbonation. The flavor is toasty, but watered down, accompanied by a redeeming sour-cherry SweeTart-like character. Finishes thin, but tart with a splash of red wine. Bottle courtesy of newcigarz!

Strange beer, has characteristics of the dark malty sweeter styles that form the base but then warped by the tartness of the cherries and the vineous barrel nature. Meh. Not awful but not dying to have this again.

4oz pour at Jack Rose DC. Pours a hazy, mahogany amber with some sudsy, white head. Nose is interesting, plum, cherry, vanilla, some barrel, some red grape, dried raisin. Flavor has a lot of cherry, a little jammy, some bread crust, a bit of booze, more like cheap wine than grain alcohol. Tart, oily finish. Unique.

Porter and stout? Hard to tell. But good tart dark sour. Dark pour thin off white head. Cherry and wine notes aroma. Tart cherries, hint of chocolate and biscuit, some vanilla. Tartness fades in the end. Thin body medium carbonation. Refreshing actually. Not what I was expecting. Great!
