Sampled from bottle at PIB, pours dark orangey amber with a small head. Aroma of butterscotch, yeast and dark fruits. Flavour is quite yeasty, with dark fruits, toffee and caramel. Mildly sweet, boozy and caramely finish. High carbonated, Well-made.

22oz bottle shared by ygtbsm94: Pours a clear dark copper bronze with a stringy-lacing white head. Has a lightly sweet dark caramel and bourbon vanilla oak nose with a touch of light fruity esters. Starts with pretty good fullness and dark caramel sweetness with a smooth vanilla oak and bourbon character before a slightly warming, drier finish. Pretty well-balanced and complex.

22oz bottle pours a hazy, caramel brown with one ring of white head. Nose is nice, oxidized, leather, orange, caramel, a little vanilla, vodka, honey, malt. Flavor is sweet, leathery, mint, orange, raisin, caramel, some apple sauce, brown sugar, cardboard. Full bodied, sticky finish.

Bottle 65 cl. Courtesy of Doodler. Pours a cloudy opaque amber with a small, rough off-white head. Heavy alcohol in the nose but also an interesting an unusual hop blend - I feel I detect some Sorachi Ace, but that’s probably wishful thinking. Rich body, lovely caramel, a lovely Bourbon character and quite a bozy finish. I really dig this! 160612

F0BAB 2010: This p0ured a cl0udy amber b0dy with a suggesti0n 0f a head. The n0se was b00zy, malty sweet, c0me t0ffee, and a whiff 0f fl0ral scents. The taste was h0t with alc0h0l, sweet with caramel/t0ffee, tempered with a charred w00d bitterness. Pretty decent.

On tap at the brewery. 2013 vintage. Pours golden color, small head. Aroma is lots of whiskey Aroma. It really predominates but it’s nice. Flavor is whiskey, toffee, burnt sugar, vanilla. Full bodied. Really nice.

A pour from the bottle on Black Christmas V. Pours a hazy golden with a tan head. Aroma is fruity and berry bourbon. Similar taste, very bitter. Quite smooth and good, though.

hombrepalo (1972) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - NOV 15, 2010
Sampled @ FoBAB 2010. Pours a dark coppery brown. The head is rather thin, but this is looking pretty good to me. Nice pungently sweet malty aroma. SLIGHT toffee, but nothing substantial going on here. A little bit of booze of the nose is a bit distracting. There is a light citrus and pine hop aroma, but the malts are dominating. A little hot, towards the end.

JoeTheYounger (1195) - Lake Arrowhead, California, USA - AUG 19, 2011
Bottle from DA. Cloudy copper pour with bubbly thin tan head. Aroma is bourbon and spicy black pepper. Taste is very similar with a bitter astringent taste that lingers. Low to med carbonation.
