bottled, thanks to ericandersnavy, hazy orange color with aroma of spice, whiskey and metal, flavor has a metal edge to it to go along with the brown sugar, whiskey and orange, palate was getting thin

Bottle. Pours a dark copper color with a nice beige head. Aroma is insanely woody, tons of oak, earthy notes, smells bitter, vanilla, alcohol, dark fruits, tea leaf old hop aromas and caramel. Flavor follows the nose and is sooo woody, tons of oak, super earthy with the tea leaf old hop notes and decent bitterness, some vanilla, alcohol, dark fruits and caramel too. The body is on the lighter side of full with a creamy and fairly dry mouth feel. Overall a pretty interesting Barley Wine, certainly the most woody and oaky beer I have had in a while.

Bottle. Pours with a hazed brown body and a small, off-white head. Aromas are very peppery and spicy (oak and alcohol), rye, bourbon, peanut shells. Plenty of alcohol and a light caramelized maltiness. Heavy on the barrel. Flavors are spicy oak, boozy. Quite dry, light caramel and dark fruits. Not very bitter but incredibly spicy and a bit tannic. Medium bubbles and very warming.

Thanks to ericandersnavy for sharing this bottle. The beer pours a hazy brown color with an off-white head. The aroma has a ton of bourbon and toffee notes, with some oak notes mixed in as well. I also get a little bit of vanilla. There is no mistaking the fact this is a bourbon barrel aged beer. The flavor follows suit. The dominant flavors are bourbon and oak, with some vanilla, maple and toffee mixed in as well. The alcohol in the beer is somewhat hot and could use some mellowing out. Still, I think all of the flavors work very well together and make for an enjoyable beer. Medium to thick mouthfeel and low carbonation. Very glad I got to try this one.

Tasting at Papsø’s
Cloudy amber color, small head. The aroma shows both some oak aging (vanilla) and dust.; light cheese and fruits. Sweet malt flavor, caramel, some fudge; wood; the bitterness in the end is a bit odd.
Good, but some weirdness here.

Bottle. Pours hazy amber with a medium off white head. The aroma is fruity and malty with notes of fruity hops, oak and biscuits. The flavour is bourbon, oak, malt, caramel and some booze. Quite boozy finish. The bourbon is mostly in front in the flavour.

Bottle. The next Wooden Hell! Pours a caramel clear color with a slight tan head. Caramel aroma, slight hops, and a little barrel. Slight booze note. Med mouthfeel. Less flavorful than I would have expected. Light caramel, hops in the back, back end just has a slight alcohol bite. Not gray but not bad either.
