Rich chewy malts, lots of alcohol, soft fruits, light booziness. I'm not sure the age that's been put on it has done either positive or negative - would like more heat taken off. beerplace (2290) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - DEC 10, 2017

UPDATED: JUL 30, 2017 Bottle thanks to Jeremy. A cloudy red orange color. Small white head. Sweet, toffee, fruity, some oxidation. Nice to try. koleminer20 (4171) - Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA - MAY 29, 2015
Enjoyed at an all barley wine tasting at Travis’s house on February 21. The pour is a nice dark caramel color with hints of ruby poking through. There is a nice tan colored head that falls off quickly. The aroma is really woody. Almost to the point I want to question if there’s a stave in the bottle. Behind that there is a little caramel and a touch of vanilla to it. Light fruit is also present. The flavor again has a ton of wood. It’s surprising for this to be so wood forward with minimal bourbon. There is a little more of a dark fruit and licorice presence on the back end, but it’s light. The mouth feel is really thin, and the carbonation was too much. This practically jumps off your tongue. It had potential, but this bottle was all over the place SG111 (2141) - New York, USA - MAR 7, 2015
On tap at the brewery. 2013 vintage. Pours golden color, small head. Aroma is lots of whiskey Aroma. It really predominates but it’s nice. Flavor is whiskey, toffee, burnt sugar, vanilla. Full bodied. Really nice. tectactoe (3125) - Michigan, USA - FEB 23, 2015
UPDATED: MAR 6, 2015 Bottle: Thanks, Steve. Cloudy, burnt amber pour with a moderate khaki foam that dissipates rather quickly. Aroma of caramel, wood, anise, heavy butter toffee, with a strong backbone of perfume & earthy forestry. Flavor has lots of wood up front. Tons of oak, almost drying things out a bit. Roasted barley, earthy bitterness, anise, mild oxidation, dirt, prune, & a hint of licorice. Kind of astringent, it finishes quite dry for a barley wine & it a touch over carbonated. Kind of kills the vibe. A little heavy on the wood, too. Not terrible, but definitely a bit messy. slowrunner77 (13205) - Reno, Nevada, USA - SEP 25, 2014
Deep ruby caramel pour. Speaking of caramel, it dominates, along with a very pleasing fruitiness, and vanilla and oak from the obvious but not too much barreling. This is a heavy, thick beer, but is very smooth at 10% and well received all around. Definitely enough to want to try more from Eugene!"
