Bottle from John’s Marketplace. Pours very ruddy copper with a multifinger foamy beige head. Warm aroma of roasted malt and xmasy spices. Medium body with foamy carbonation. Flavor is roasted malt, but not harshly roasted. The spices aren’t quite there. But there is something bitter balancing the malt - like subtle rosemary? Or maybe just fruity/floral hop. Bomber poured a clear reddish brown with a lasting tan head. Aromas of cocoa, carmel, nuttiness, earthiness and light coffee. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Bottle, shared with TylerDurden (who no longer frequents this site, the bastard). Pours a dark brown with some sedimentary particles at the end of the pour. Chunky tan head. Clear dark amber under a sticky lacy light beige head. The aroma is earthy nutty with a dark malt syrupiness with a odd but very welcoming herbal background. Nice flavor of Rosemary and some sort of herbal tone with some earthy malt tones, light nuttiness, a little Yrba Mate tea, and a light touch of earthy resiny hops on the finish. aroma has a nice roasted caramel malt presence followed by subtle hops, mostly pine.
flavors, roasted malts, hints of coffee, chocolate, followed by a nice hop pine/floral mouthfeel that balance everything out, making this one a tasty IPA.
Finish has some notes of caramel/roast covered with hops goodness.
