Bottle. Pours a ruddy brown, with a respectable top of sturdy foam. The aroma is unusual and I can’t quite pin it ... almost cough medicine-like, but not off-putting. This drinks with a fruity flourish, like a sweet cherry bake. There’s also a nice little bitter edge that tops this off quite nicely. 22 oz. bomber purchased at BevMo. It pours a dark red color with a nice creamy off white head. The aroma is pretty well balanced with toast, toffee and light fruit salad with some hints of floral, herbal hops. The flavor is more hoppy than the aroma with some strong earthy, floral bitterness, sweet toffee, caramel, toast, fruit and hints of cocoa. It kind of tastes like a cross between an English Strong Ale and a Winter Warmer/Old Ale. Pretty tasty stuff. riversideAK (6261) - Shoreline, Washington, USA - NOV 5, 2011
Kind of a roasty nutty beer with aearthy almost herbal hop character. Pours auburn in color, thinn bubbly ring or foam with some decent lace. Flavor is roasty, toasty, nutty and bitter. Herbal peppery bitterness with a little dank. Definitely strikes me as a hoppy brown ale. Smooth with lingering bitter.

Thanks to blutt59 for sharing this bottle.
The beer pours a dark amber color with a white head. The aroma is toffee, caramel and maybe a little bit of spices. The flavor is very similar and is very malty. I get a lot of chocolate and toffee notes, as well as some spices and some grass notes. Fairly sweet overall. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

This was poured into a mug.
The appearance was a nice looking dark hazy brown color with a thin capped white foamy head that clung for a good amount of the time.
The smell had a deep dark roasted brown ale - esque sort of roasted and possibly baked maltiness about it. The taste was mainly roasty and sweet with a rolling roastiness in the aftertaste and it leaves a slight dry finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a medium on the body with a fairly decent sipping quality about it. It seems carbonated appropriately.
Overall, I say this was a pretty good winter warmer leaning towards the darker side of the house. hayduke (5575) - Eureka, California, USA - APR 11, 2010
This was a long distance shared beer tasting with Strykzone via Facebook chat. This poured pours reddish brown with a tan head and good lacing. The nose is fairly mild and the aroma a lightly roasted caramel malt presence with some hints of chocolate, coffee, ripe fruit and pine. Fairly complex. The mouthfeel is just a bit bolder than medium and the mouthfeel is somewhat sticky. The flavor, like the nose, is not overwhelming, and shows lots of malts with some subtle hops of citrus an pine, The finish goes on and on, and is bitter but not overly so. Overall a very drinkable brew that tastes just as good at the end as it did at the beginning.. markwise (5441) - North of Tampa, Florida, USA - MAY 28, 2010
I think sebletitje shared this one. Pours hazy brown with an off-white head. Nose is malt, citrus hops, herbs, and a slight floral quality. Flavor is similar with herbs and malt. Pretty good. mar (5434) - Dallas, Texas, USA - DEC 21, 2010
