On tap at Bde&. A dense finger thick dark beige head forms over a more or less black body. Nice curtains. Roasted, lightly burnt aroma with hints of charcoal and a good dash of dark chocolate and coffee. Lovely but a tad weak. More pronounced flavor, with roasted malts and a good dash of espresso and dark chocolate. Bready hints. Decent bitterness too. Lasting roasted, coffee-ish finish. Dry, nicely carbonated and smooth on the palate. A really fine one, well worth a revisit. 160213

Poured from the bottle from tavour. Were on vacation and all the hotel room has is Styrofoam cups which makes this beer poor and appear like hot cocoa. However while the beer has notes of sweet chocolate there is a definite coffee flavor as well. Overall very good despite the strange situation I find myself in.

Draught, guest ale served in a tulip glass at Cafe Fiasco. Filmy fawn-coloured head. Dotted spots on the glass. Deep devil-black body. Rich roasted black malty nose with liquorice to the fore. Blended taste of sweet chocolate and roasted, almost burnt coffee grounds. Prolonged finish. Medium bodied, smooth on the swallow. Tasty (Oslo 11.12.2015).

The appearance and taste are nice however the aroma and taste are a bit flat. Presentation (can): 3.5/5. Gold can with a solid white logo on one side and a full color version on the other.

Can from the Grapevine in Pocatello. Pours a mahogany color with a nice bubbly, brown head. The aroma seemed to have a touch of something like cinnamon spice in addition to the light coffee notes. Gentle, balanced flavor that has enough malt to keep the coffee in check. Nice.
