The Perfect Storm Double IPA celebrates the rich traditions of brewing in the Northwest. The perfect storm of six different hop varieties combine to create a substantial ale with a clean finish. A proprietary blend of regional and European barley malts balance the hop bitterness while allowing the hop flavors to dominate.

Tap @ Taphouse Grill. Hazy yellow-gold with a short white head with decent retention and leaving heavy lace. Nose is citrus, floral and light fruits. Medium-heavy body with moderate, fine carbonation. Mouth feel is pretty slick, with a slight oiliness. Citrus zest, orange blossom, toast and spruce. Finish is long and fairly bitter, with some citrus. Certain aspects of this IIPA are ideal, others less so (for me).

Light amber, hazy. Hops are citrusy but a bit oxidized at this point. Bitter, some bright orangey notes, light pale malts. Decent balance.

Appearance: Lighter copper, hazy. Finger of off white foam. Nose: Pine and citrus hops restrained. Good amount of honeyed sweetness. Taste: Malty but also resinously sweet with a nice hoppy balance between pine and citrus. Body: Medium to thicker. satiny Parting thoughts: definitely a more subtle hopped brew. Alcohol evident in taste and effect.

Bottle from The Beer Junction, Seattle; 9% ABV
Clean golden color with medium head. The aroma provides a blend af resiny, fruity, dunk hops, and toffee (8.5). Lean body, cant believe this is 9% beer, with strong toffee malt flavor, light residual sweetness, followed by a strong presence of piney hops and some citrus fruits. Well balanced..
Surgically clean IIPA with excellent malt and hops.

650 ml bottle @ Kick. Unclear orange body with a rather small but good locking, lacing off-white head. Nice citric fruity aroma with lots of malt as well with caramel. Flavor is sweet pale malt, citric fruit and good bitterness. Well balanced pleasant body and long lasting aftertaste with smooth malt and pleasant bitterness. Alcohol is well hidden, just as a warming feeling in the aftertaste. Not really complex, pretty straight forward, but very smooth and well made. Nice one.

UPDATED: FEB 17, 2016 gold pour big white head. Aroma juniper pine spruce simcoe hops. Tastes big pine whew initially then orange like centennial fades into biscuity grainy barley. Rerated 2/17/16 - 2016 edition. More nelson. Still too sweet.

22oz bomber. The deScription says 10% ABV but the bottle says 8.7% ABV. Pours a hazy peach with a moderate head and good lacing. Nose is fruit, pine and earth with a hint of grass and yeast. Taste starts out sweet, evolves into malt and finally graduates to a complex bitterness. The whole mixture of nose, taste and finish is exceptional and hides the alcohol very well.
