Pours clear gold, bubbled...with a tall white head.
Grain malt, grass aroma.
Taste has just a hint of skunk (green glass)....mostly watery grain malt, grass...slight grassy hop bittering.
Not great, but better than expected. Finn (7547) - Tromsø, NORWAY - SEP 18, 2014
Boks 500ml anskaffet av djoeye og delt med ham og Rune på pauserommet 27 Aug 14. Veldig lys gusjegulgrønn. Høyt luftig skum. Svakt metallisk aroma. Smaken er syrlige epler. Kjedelig. Rune (12770) - Tromsø, NORWAY - SEP 12, 2014
500ml bottle can shared by djoeye. Clear yellow-gold coloured body. Disappearing, pearl white head. Vague smell of grainy malts. Flavoured with mid-sweet apples and bread-like malts. Lacking hops. Soft and semi-sweet on the swallow. Standard East European lager, drinkable (The Bokhuset tasting with Finn & djoeye, Tromsø 10.09.2014). djoeye (4605) - Tromsø, NORWAY - SEP 11, 2014

Off white head. Very pale body, golden. Aroma; mild yellow apples. Taste; caramel malts, pale type, some bread, some dry notes of faint hops, apple peel. Normal on palate. Clean lager, a bit anonymous. [50cl can 5.0%abv [email protected]

I figured this green bottle beauty would be monstrous but it actually isn’t half bad. Good gumdrops! It is a nice, clear golden color w/ a small white head of fine bubbles and lots of little spots of lace. There is a slight touch of skunk in the nose but it is honestly not bad and fades to a nice, herbal hop nose with some cracked malt in the background. The taste is mildly sweet and malt w/ earthy hop bitterness and a touch of lemon. This is a full bodied beer and unfortunately gets a bit heavy on the palate as it warms, which means it is not the best for drinking a lot of and that is the whole point of this kind of a beer whether you want to call it a Pilsener or pale lager or American standard or whatever. It finishes w/ some lingering honey-like malt charcter and a touch of mineral bitterness. There is some nice stuff going on here and for some reason even some things I generally consider off-flavors seem to work here so it is not a total loss. I’d probably drink this pretty regularly if I lived in the Ukraine, assuming it’s pretty cheap.

Bottle at home from early backlog notes. I didn’t intend to go back and rate some of these pale lagers from the early days on the site, but I am finding that as I moved up certain lists I enjoyed being on lists. Therefore tickers gotta tick. Pours a clear yellow golden color with a small white head. The aroma and flavor have grainy malts, corn, skunk, grass, the usual crap, and I can get others cheaper. Bottled 0,50L. Clear golden color, modest bubbly aspect with short head duration. Simple grains and wheat aroma, dried grassy aroma. Soft malty taste, moderate bitterish palate with decided and long unbalnced alcohol final. r464 (2360) - Earth, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 13, 2014
Light yellow with a fizzy white head. Watery, skunky, light malt. A bit of an aftertaste. ectuohy27 (1175) - ESTONIA - JUN 3, 2014
nice, relatively flavorful PL, with more malt than expected for a decent finish. Of course, watery and pretty low-quality overall, but I’d have it again. Cunningham (7975) - Halden, NORWAY - JUN 2, 2014
