A brown porter that’d be a great beer on its own is even better with a subtle toasted coconut character that complements the dark grains wonderfully. A complex and exotic potion that’s an easy drinking, refreshing tropical elixir.

Pours cola brown in color with a thick light tan head. Aroma is heavy roasted malts and light coffee. Taste is coffee, a little chocolate sliding into a easy malty finish - can’t really find the coconut, unless it is supplying some smoothness. Not super complex, but pleasant.

Bottle shared by b3shine at Jason’s Stone tasting. Pours a clear brown color with a small off white head. The aroma and flavor have toasted coconut, mild chocolate, lighter roast, mild earthy bitterness. OK for what it is.

Bottle from Publix Supermarket, Kissimmee, Florida. A very dark brown-black beer that pours without any head. It has chocolate, vanilla and coconut flavours, a slightly thin body followed by a creamy slight sour red fruity finish.

Decent porter, but a little bland. Barely taste the coconut. Wish this had more flavor, could have been great.

12oz bottle, shared by someone in the group at brew3crew’s Stone tasting. Clear dark brown color. Thin light brown greyish head. Couple loose dots of lace. Nice big toasted coconut malt aroma. Medium body. Light, smooth lightly soft carbonation... Lightly dry in the finish. More sweet taste, minimal bitter. Decent coconut porter.

Appearance: Pours deep brown under a thin layer of khaki foam which fades into a thin layer with a slightly thicker collar. Swirls average but releases a massive nose.
Nose: Toasted coconut and chocolate powder in the back. Chocolate graham crackers. Plums along the sides. A bit simple but encouraging.
Palate: Creamy mouthfeel – like chewing on chocolate dusted marshmallows. Toasted coconut along the edges. Whipped marshmallow. Plums and plum juice in the out edges and back. Coconut and toasted marshmallow in the breath is followed by chocolate powder. Hard chocolate candies on top. Tootsie rolls?
Final Thoughts: I’ve had this beer in many incarnations through its development and this last stage has so far been the best and is a worthy quaff I’d drink again. I love supporting my local brewers, and even more so when I like their beers.
