Tap at BarHop. Deep brown pour - the nose is lovely. Soft spice and a touch of barrel vineous ness. Blackberry fruit and some light cocoa as well. A touch of spice and some lingering leathery character. Nice strong brew.
[5506-20130619] Tap. Roasted fruit grain aroma. Slightly hazy, dark red brown body with a quick foamy off-white head. Toasted grainy fruit flavour. Medium body. Tasty, nice balance, hint of bitterness in the finish. (7/3/7/4/15) 3.6

Bottle, pours dark brown almost black even, aroma is lots of bourbon and flavour is bourbon as well, quite strong and a heavy malt flavour, overall it was okay. blankboy (7788) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JUN 25, 2013
Draught at Bar Hop. Pours a dark reddish-brown with a small lasting frothy beige head. Nice fruity aroma, a bit of spice, some light hops and sweet malt. Flavour is fruity and malty along with a bitter finish. Average to medium bodied. Nice and fruity, it’s pretty good. jercraigs (10731) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JUN 25, 2013
2013-06-19. Crisp dark brown body with a small beige head. 3+ Aroma of sweet dark malt, sugary touches, light fruity and leafy green hop accents. Flavour is sweet up front, dark malt, sugary touches, much more bitterness towards the finish, leafy green hop undertones. Almost like a sweet double black IPA. Not a ton of bourbon character compared to previous years - is there any? Smooth average plus bodied palate, soft carbonation. 3++ Quite nice. On tap at Bar Hop, Toronto

On tap at Bar Hop. Pours dark brown with modest light tan head. Aroma has a lot going on - it’s sort of like a black IPA but with some woodiness. Flavour has toasty toffee, coffee, cocoa, piney/citric hops and a definite oakiness. Medium plus body. A little busy but interesting. neongolden (1794) - Linköping, Sweden/Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JUN 22, 2013
(Draught at Bryden’s, Toronto ON, June 20th 2013) Pours a deep brown with mahogany highlights and a nice big head of tan froth, bit of lace. Aroma is an interesting mix of pine hops, slight floral note, roast, oaky vanilla, bourbon. Flavour follows the nose, there is a decent bite of hops to go with the nutty malts, bourbon barrel, slight burnt toffee sweetness, quite well-balanced so it never gets too sweet or dry. Finish is moderate hop bitterness set off with the malt body, bit of alcohol heat creeps through. A little over-carbonated for the style, fairly heavy but not too creamy of body. Interesting blend, barrel is not as forward as I expected. Lubiere (14133) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - JUN 22, 2013
A dark clear brown ale with a thin mocha head. In aroma, a smooth nutty malt with light floral hops, and nice bourbon touches, wood and licorice. In mouth, a smooth bourbon laced ale with nutty malt, woody character, licorice and coffee. solidfunk (9366) - Washington D.C., Washington DC, USA - JUN 22, 2013
I don’t even know what the this is - all I can taste really is an excess of barrel. That being said it’s better than the 2012 edition - at least this random mixture kind of works but we’ll see in a year. Aroma of malt. Pours dark red with some lacing and a bit of head. Average carbonation. Not great, seems like a waste of good barrels. On tap at Barhop. Sammy (12623) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JUN 19, 2013
On tap at Emmet Ray’s. Mild bourbon and oaky aroma. A nice coca cola spice, and bourbon without too corny. Hoppy finish. Light brown coloured, no head. The hops comes through on this one. Nicely malted and very drinkable despite the alcohol. Very well crafted between six breweries.
