COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A smash hit at Occidental’s Oktoberfest, this year’s Festbier is a rich yet quaffable lager in the old tradition of Oktoberfest beers before light colors and flavors began to dominate the style. German noble hops provide a delicate hop character to pair with a firm malt profile featuring Munich and Vienna malts. Portland-area beer drinkers can enjoy these flavors during the transition from summer to fall while admiring the beer’s beautiful, deep mahogany color.

Draught. Amber with white head. Malty bready aroma. Fullish flavour, more malt with a light hop edge. Light finish

Bottle from Brewers Haven. Dark amber with small creamy head . Malty aroma, dark brown bread. Taste is also centered on the malts, pumpernickel. On the darker side of the märzen spectrum.

500ml bottle pours out a crisp golden topped with a white head. Nose is grain some grass sweet malts. Taste is more of the nice bread

mcberko (19222) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - DEC 1, 2015
On tap at St. Augustine’s, pours a clear amber brown with a small off-white head. Aroma is malt heavy, with lots of toasted bready malt. Flavour is quite full-bodied with loads of bready malt, caramel and some grassy notes as well. Really nicely constructed. Nothing tame about this. One of the better fest beers I’ve had in a while.

fiulijn (21470) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - FEB 8, 2015
Draught at Stateside Craft, Vancouver
Amber color with compact head. The aroma and flavor are fruity and stale, mellow, a bit cloying, with no character; candies, some dust; low bitterness.
Not surprisingly, and American take at the style; not a bad beer, but utterly uninspiring.

bpreo (2990) - Eugene, Oregon, USA - DEC 13, 2013
UPDATED: SEP 26, 2017 A unique flavor that does not, unfortunately, appeal to my particular taste buds.

Re-rating 9/26/2017:

Great authentic flavors. 6, 4, 7, 5, 16.
