500 ml bottle at Lompa Friluft, Oslo. ABV is 5.0%. Beautiful reddish brown, colour, low off-white head. Moderate malty aroma with toast and a hint of chocolate. Soft mouthfeel, moderate carbonation. Lovely flavour, well balanced between the malts (brown bread, toast, lightly roasted notes of chocolate and coffee) and hops (elderflowers, grapefruit, pine). Smooth to drink. Huge beige head keeps rising, eventually growing a foam hat out
of the glass. Clear amber body with strong carbonation. Earthy
dusty burnt caramel aroma with milky peas notes. Dry-sweet
roasty wooden earthy taste with notes of burnt peas. Mid-bodied.
Mild, soft mouthfeel. Dry earthy licorice and burnt caramel
aftertaste with wooden milky notes. Unusual, vivid and clear,
and highly drinkable, with lots of flavour. (0.5l bottle,

(Cask at Oliver Twist, 20160324) The beer poured deep dark brown and clear. Its head was small, white and it lasted long. Aroma had caramel, grass and malts. Palate was medium bodied with low carbonation. Flavours were grass, malts, caramel, sweetness and bitterness. Aftertaste was sweet and bitter. A nice brew I’d categorise as brown ale.

Sample at SMÖF 2011. It poured a clear dark brown liquid. Smell and taste of dark malts and chocolate. Nice and easy to drink, but I got a feeling I would grow tired if I had a full 50 cl glas. larsniclas (7144) - Billdal, SWEDEN - APR 30, 2011

, järntorget. Darkish amber, clear. Very english strong bitter/esb aroma: Light nutty bready malts, herbal hops, some earthyness. Dry body, bready herby finish. Darker caramels, dry hazelnuts. Ok bitter. English seems to be ocean’s trademark.
