Pours dark chestnut with a small, creamy, off-white head. Becomes a thin film rather fast. Aroma is spicy, piney, light smoke and a lot of juniper berries, light chocolate, roasted malts and light cardboard. Medium carbonation, okay mouthfeel. Flavour has light smoke, milky chocolate, roasted malts that dominate in the finish.

Clear dark coper color, tan head. Hoppy and slight bitter taste, some herbs. Also roasted with a faint touch of alcohol. Rather fresh aftertaste with roasted tones in it. Hoppy and fruity scent, also some alcohol. Some toffee as well. Smooth mouthfeel, medium high bitterness. Very nice! I wish Göteborg had been given a higher piece of the cake ;)

Very clear dark red color, tan head. Sweet, yet dry and herbal, fairly bitter taste with a crisp, clean, herbal, mineral, bitter finish. Some bready notes and hints of cream too. Medium full moussy light co2 mouthfeel. Medium high herbal bitterness. Sweet and fruity scent.
When served this cool almost felt like a dark lager or at least bottom fermeneted. When warmed up quite a bit the fruity notes got more potent though. I spoke with the brewer a bit this evening and the beer had fermented at 21 C, and was brwed with a top fermented yeast.
Very drinkable, very nice, though for a Christmas beer I personally want some spices, but hey, I’m like that...

UPDATED: MAR 4, 2013 Cask at The Bishops Arms (Gustav Adolfs Torg) Malmo. Deep reddish brown pour with a thin bubbly fast dispersing head. A dry yeasty aroma leading into a fruity, medium bitter taste. You could almost chew the fruit. This is a really heart warming flavourful ale and an ideal example of what a Christmas beer should be! gyllenbock (9328) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - DEC 3, 2016
