April 5th, 2015 - The Dude is looking good in his Obama campaign poster style artwork from Oceanside's Ale Works. Lighter brown and absent of haze, it looks appealing, and the pine scented aroma is similarly inviting. It's a little soapy and sweet too, but it's defining quality is a freshness, like mountain air on a hike. The palate is a little disappointing, lacking the buoyancy I had hoped. And the flavor is confusing and staggered. On the savory side is a biscuit quality, but it's perfumed, too, with a flat and unpleasant aftertaste. Alengrin (6083) - BELGIUM - FEB 5, 2018
Bomber at Uncle Babe's in Ghent, shared with Goedele and Evan. Rather thinnish, egg-white, opening but 'edge-retaining' head over a hazy 'old orange' blonde beer. Aroma of grapefruit peel, fennel seed, dried onion, deep-fried zucchini, orange, parsley, radish, red apple, crackers, olive oil - interesting and 'green' in comparison with the usually sweet orangey and tropical fragrance I tend to expect from a DIPA. Clean fruity onset, sweetish but restrainedly so, hinting at dried apricot, red apple peel and unripe pear, fizzy carbonation, smooth and oily mouthfeel - but strangely feeling a lot thinner than 10%+ ABV. Butterscotch-, cracker- and bread crust-like malt body, quite 'pale' and less biscuity than would typify the style; finishes with retronasal orange zest, thyme, pine resin and mandarin peel notes, bitter with an (olive) oily effect, but not exuberantly sweet; some brandy-ish alcohol in the end finally reveals the strength of this beer. This bottle was probably a bit too old already, having lost a lot of its hop fragrance but apparently some body as well - though I have no means to compare with a fresh sample at this moment so who knows, it could just be in this beer's nature. I was expecting a more vinous and oily texture, sweeter biscuity maltiness and more citrusy hop fragrance so in that sense a bit of a disappointment, but I do appreciate that this is a bit different from the standard and has a kind of 'fresh moss green' character to it, vaguely reminiscent of Stone's Ruination. Would love to try this again young. Meilby (11830) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - JAN 19, 2018

Sampled at Rorie's tasting. This is a serious beer. The name and label had me wondering. It is big, too. All kinds of hop notes here. Citrus, tropical, mango, grapefruit. A malt base that was more pale than caramel. Good stuff.

Amber with little white head. Aroma is nice fruit profile grapeftuit and mandarin cookie dough much passion fruit. Smooth aroma. Taste is also smooth bittersweet juice. Not too much of anything. Bitter hop finish. Slight spiky. A bit mealy on the tongue. Low carbonation. Could be a bit more smooth. But it is not overhopped or full of cracker malt like many other dipas. Good. chrisv10 (18918) - DENMARK - OCT 20, 2017

Butelka. Piękna bursztynowa barwa, klarowna. Praktycznie bez piany. Aromat ananasa, brzoskwini, marakui. Bardzo przyjemny, intensywny aromat. W smaku zdecydowanie gorzej, mało owoców. Alkohol dobrze ukryty. Goryczka średnia, niezalegajaca. Wysycenie w kierunku wysokiego.
Po ogrzaniu wychodzi w aromacie lekką nutą alkoholowa.
