Bottle from CraftShack. Pours quite hazy pinkish orange, small bubbly off-white head that surprisingly yields nice residual and good lacing. Aroma is weird, certainly strawberries, but overlayed with a nail polish plastic thing. Chemicals. Flavor is medium tart, strawberry milk powder, warheads, light funk, lactose, nail polish remover. Medium body, creamy mouthfeel. jredmond (8999) - New York, New York, USA - MAR 2, 2016
Bottle from CraftShack shared with Paul and Vinny. Pours a deep hazy orange body with thin white lacing. Nose is sour peach and apricot skins. Light acidity. 750ml bottle acquired from Binnys Naperville (Naperville, IL). Had a good experience with the Peche, so why not? Pours a nice glowing hazy orange amber hue, pinkish red strawberry glow hits the body. Wintery sunset colors emanate, a healthy glow and frothy whitish head atop die down to a filmy yet fuller layer, mellow ringer laces nice enough. Aromas show big tart and sour strawberry, firm lactic appeal, yogurt and seedy sour strawberry. Earth, a bit of cereal grain, bigger sour and fresh fuzzy strawberry. Fun, potent sour and genuine fruit appeal. Initial is a bit flabby in the carbonation department, firm sourness hits with lavtic and citric appeal, a touch of spiciness, lactic twang is a bit metallic, funky, rubbery. That odd strawberry appeal, almost a bit bitter as you hit the backend. Some acedic notes hit the palate a bit, fuzzy and citric sourness are a bit aggressive and unnatural at times. That odder backend is almost artificial (not the fruit but the acidic sourness). Flutters of cereal grains, bread and wheat at times. Faint wafts of acetone up front taper off. A bit fuzzy, potent lactic backend and almost a metalllic twang, subtle spiciness, lingering Sweet Tart/Shock Tart like dryness over the palate. An impressive potent nose, solid pour and at times, the beer itself is enjoyable. However it lacks complexity and nuance, but also lacks a cohesive crushable element that the Peche offered a lot more of. A bit of acetone is fleeting, the beer itself just seems a bit fake. Overall, a solid enough sour with a richer sour bent. But overall, it’s a bit one note and brash at times. Not the worst Oceanside sour I’ve consumed by far (though it is starting to wander towards Daliesque acidity levels) but not up to it’s Peche counterpart. It’s pretty sad this beer hadn’t been added yet. dnstone (4175) - Kansas City, Missouri, USA - JAN 25, 2018
Berry funky aroma. Pours a pinkish-copper with off-white head. Approaches, but never actually becomes tart; berry-like dullness.
