Tap @ capital ale house - Fredericksburg - Pours pitch with a thin head. Aroma is of raisin bread. Taste tends sweet and dry. Alcohol is present adding spiciness. Overall, pretty good. Foxbush (2118) - Richmond, Virginia, USA - JUN 9, 2012
This was tasted at the Capital Ale House in Fredericksburg. The nose was of roasted malt and cinnamon. The small head disappeared and left on a small tan collar. Complex stout with all the raisins and currents in the brew. It was a bit thin and watery. The light body stout’s carbonation was average. The finish was sweet with no bitterness. Served on draft at Capital Ale House Harrisonburg. Pours a dark reddish brown color with a thin creamy off-white head. Fair head retention. Aroma of dark fruits, currant, cherry, roasted malts and spice. The taste is roasted malts, currants, cherries, cinnamon and a bitter hop finish. Chewy texture, medium bodied. Quite nice.
