Tasted at the Mariners Museum Craft Beer Festival. Nice malty aroma, no hop aroma with hints of chocolate. Good head and a clear garnet color. Taste was great. Good bitterness with a slightly sweet chocolate finish. Medium body with a pleasing finish. I went back for seconds.

Draft. Enormous tan head atop cola brown body. Aroma is moderately sweet, cocoa, light chococaramel. Taste is moderately sweet chocolate, light caramel. Light-medium body, light stickiness.

SHIG (4962) - Wasilla, Alaska, USA - MAR 19, 2017
Bottle: Poured a pitch black with a thin tan head. Aroma silky rick chocolate and roasted malts. Taste is super rich dark chocolate and roastedness to the back.

A coffee and smoked malt aroma, pours a dark brown with a tan head with nice lacing. Slightly dry I don’t get the claim of creamy mouth feel and I like a creamier stout. Full bodied with a coffee smoked malt and coffee taste. The bitterness comes through quite noticeably in the end. Much more drinkable than Guinness.

Had fresh from tap. Have to say this is my favorite of this brand’s offerings. Very drinkable. No holdover aftertaste. Some commented about bitterness however I experienced little. Mouth feel was a bit thin.

Shanebrews (293) - Virginia, USA - AUG 8, 2016
Another O’Connor brew that is middle of the road for the parameters of the style. All of the requisite aroma notes and visual characteristics are there but the body is a little rough and sharp on the roasted malt. I like a creamier stout. The bitterness comes through quite noticeably on the finish due to the strength of the body. Not bad, but not my favorite type of stout.

Darwenus (1136) - Virginia, USA - JUN 20, 2016
This isn’t terrible. It’s OK. It pours chocolate brown, the average head leaves a lot of lace. The aroma is a little bit of spice, cloves, a caramel/chocolate malt in the background. The flavor is mild. A bit of coffee on the close. Watery mouthfeel. I’ve had far worse beer than this.

kidobutai (690) - Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA - JUN 18, 2016
Poured from a bottle. Dark brown, almost black color, 1 finger head, not much lacing. Malt and chocolate notes, carbonation, hearty offering.

Iphonephan (6988) - Jackson Hole/McLean, Virginia, USA - APR 14, 2016

jbruner (4740) - Marietta, Georgia, USA - DEC 31, 2015
Pours a deep brownish black on tap with fluffy tan head that leaves moderate lace. Aroma and taste of nice roast notes and dry earth. Really clean and easy, well done.
