Bottle, Wine Warehouse, $2.40. Pours dark brown with a small head. Aroma os chocolate, nuts, and vomit. Flavor is definitely pecan-laced, along with some coffee, caramel, and chocolate. Not bad.

4 oz pour on draft at Spacebar. Dark brownish black with light tan head. Aromas of caramel, cocoa. Tastes of caramel, sweet pecan, light cocoa, malt. Medium body with a dry finish.

Aroma is coffee and chocolate but not a hint of pecan. Great looking black color with a short lasting creamy tan head. Taste of chocolate and coffee with a hint of bitterness. Watery feel with a chocolate finish and a small trace of pecan.

Appearance: Dark black body with a light tan head that quickly fades to nothing, giving the beer the appearance of cola in the glass.

Aroma: There is a chocolate aroma and a slight note of alcohol. I don’t pick up any pecans in the aroma.

Taste: I pick up a fresh roasted coffee flavor, some toasted bread, and a bit of an oak flavor.

Mouthfeel: The mouthfeel is medium bodied but doesn’t coat the mouth. A hint o f roasted bitterness is left on the palate.

Overall: I didn’t get any pecan flavor in this beer, which is a pretty big disappointment considering the picture of pecans and use of the word "pecan" in the title of the beer. It’s a decent porter but it doesn’t deliver what is advertised. I wouldn’t pick it up again.

Large beige head atop a nearly black body and good lacing. Roasted malt aroma with swirls of chocolate, dark fruit and modest nuttiness. Smooth, moderately sweet, toasted malt taste with caramel and toffee along side the subltleness of the pecans. Aftertaste stays sweet. Full bodied, softly carbonated mouthfeel and a long lasting finish.

Pours dark black with tan head. Scent is toasted nutty brown sugar. Mouth is full of woody toasted pecans with a hint of coffee and currants. Yum!

Bottle. Black pour with a dense, medium tan head. Aroma is roasted malt, chocolate notes and toasted nuts. Taste is roasted malt, sweet chocolate, toasted nut, light earthy hops and caramel. Body is medium and rather chewy with a dense, creamy carbonation. Finishes with more roasted malt, toasted nuts, dark bread, caramel and chocolate notes. Very nice!

Draft at Green Leaf Annual Christmas dinner, Williamsburg VA: Light charcoal aroma. Cola colored, thin head. Charcoal and ash flavor. Pecan presence is not obvious. Decent porter, but not as nutty as expected.
