12 oz bottle. Pitch black pour with a tan head. Aroma of oranges, pine, and dirt. Flavor is the same. Grainy with citrus hints. Just not a fan of this style.

Non Beer Trip Beer Trip Beer #97. 12 ounce bottle from Whole Foods Ann Arbor Eisenhower. Clear dark brown, medium foamy tan head, good retention. Aroma of roasted malts and citrus. The taste is chocolate, roasted malts, tropical fruit, citrus. Medium bodied.

From bottle into tulip. Huge 4 finger head that lasts a while. Nice hop aroma when uncapped but doesn’t last through the whole glass. Color is dark brown. Tastes pretty good. Nice bitterness in the finish.

Bottle purchased at Rishi’s. Pours darkest brown with a thick tan head. Aroma of malt, pine, grass and roast. Malty flavor with licorice and caramel accents before a roasty and piney finish.

Black, though not opaque, body with a half-inch of mocha colored head. Aromas include pine, orange zest, resinous hops. Chocolate and piney hops flavor. Light to medium in body with moderate bitterness. I enjoyed this.

Wonderful beer. The dark malt and citrus play very well together. Odd Side can be hit or miss, but this one is a definite hit. Will get again.

12 oz bottle poured into an English pint glass. One of a few different OddSide beers my brother brought back for me on a recent trip to Michigan. Pours black with a large, creamy two finger khaki colored head that leaves plenty of lacing. Aroma and taste of citrus, pine, toasty malts, caramel, cocoa, and a hint of coffee. Surprisingly crisp and refreshing. Nice long finish of citrus and malts. Medium bodied, smooth texture, average carbonation. Very good black IPA here.

Bottle from Gimmethefunk, thanks Pat. Poured a medium to thinner density black bidy under a smaller soap bubble beige head. Aroma is rather sweet, black licorice, sugary bubble gum, raisin puree, bad sugary citrus fruit. Body is medium but carbonation is too light, slighty chalky. Flavor is better, charred yellow grapefruit, light chocolate, dirt, old citrus rind and some dry dark toast with a dry sugary finish. Solid beer.
