Bottle: Bright golden-yellow body with moderate haziness; white, foamy, big-bubbled cap settles quickly to a lazy film. Aroma is, well, heavy Simcoe. Pine needles, brash florals, woodsy & earthy spice, bitter grapefruit rind, a hint of apricot, & mild perfume. Smells bitter. Tastes bitter, too. Surprisingly robust & flavorful for a 4.5% ABV brew, actually. Heavy pine needs, resin, white pepper, spicy & earthy in a staunch bitterness that leads into a strong evergreen & perfumey back-end. Wet, oily, & moderately thin mouth feel. Malt is fully eclipsed by the hop abrasion. Slightly palate fatiguing, which is funny considering the lower ABV, but all-in-all, a nice hop bomb. alexsdad06 (10641) - West Chester, Ohio, USA - JAN 8, 2015
12 oz. bottle from family from notes. Pours a hazy orange amber color with a medium sized off white head. The aroma and flavor have dank, resiny hops, some grapefruit citrus, grass, toasted malts, caramel, not too bad for a lighter, session ipa, mild to moderate bitterness. arminjewell (9720) - East Lansing, Michigan, USA - AUG 22, 2014
Pour out of 12 oz bottle, hazy orange-red pour with white head, aroma brought notes of pineapple, mango, grass, pine, hints of biscuit, bread, hints of grass, slight earth. Taste is a mix of grass, bread, earth, some nice mango, pineapple, hints of grain, finishing bitter, dry. Nice. Nate (4279) - Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 5, 2014
Sampled on tap at brewery. Terrific hop nose, fruity and floral. Light sweetness. Pale amber golden clear with white head. Medium body with medium carbonation. Starts fairly dry with carbonic bite. Big hop taste and bitterness. Pale malt sweetness with big bitter finish. Lingering bitter after. czar (9338) - Québec, Quebec, CANADA - JUL 30, 2014
pours hazy light golden with a creamy white head showing some retention and lacing. spicy citrus, hint of tropical, bitter herbs - fresh dill and mint, lean lightly spicy maltiness, fruitiness - oranges and grapefruit, lot of grass and pepper. moderately low carbonation, light body, assertive and dry grassy-spicy-peppery-citrusy finish. quite nice session.

Bottle. Light golden body with frothy white head. Aroma of citrus, grapefruit, pine. Hint of biscuit and caramel. The flavor is lightly to moderately sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. It finishes lightly sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. Thin to medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Hop taste of grapefruit and citrus with some grass. Aroma was bold enough, but the thinner body (not surprising in a session ipa) was a bit of a weak backbone for the hop flavors. TheAlum (7164) - Aurora, Illinois, USA - JUL 22, 2014
Flight pour on tap at the brewpub (Grand Haven, MI). Pours a nice hazy golden straw hue, a mellow glow, a bit deadened with some lively bubbles. Cakey whitish head atop as a nice layer, some decent ring and cling sticks around. Decent lacing. Aromas are nice Simcoe and bitter hop elements, firm grapefruit meets lemon, touches of florals and bitter earth. A touch of juicy tropical fruit and gentle catty liveliness. Mellow bread, cereal grains. Initial is lighter bodied, mellow bitterness that starts to grow. Lemon, grapefruit, touch of soap hits the palate. Smaller beer offers some firm bitterness. Touches of grapefruit rind, a bit pithy with some florals, fuzzy earthy bitterness. Faint peach, bit of tropical fruit. Middle is clean, smaller with nice bitterness. Fresh hop element prevails into backend. Firm grapefruit juice, florals, that fruity bent still keeps a rockin’. Touches of gentle chalk, florals, bitter and faint melon. Finish is bitter, citrusy and fresh. Very nice stuff. To the point, bitter and fresh, malt bill never really gives any life except for a golden touch of bready/grainy malts to make you remember it’s a beer. Nice. Simcoe fairly fresh, hop elements really work well though the nose might be the weakness, it’s still solid. ChiGuy68 (609) - Illinois, USA - JUL 4, 2014
Tasted from a 12oz bottle. It poured a clear golden with a bubbly to frothy white head and big streaky lacing. Aroma of malt and hops with a bits of pine and grassiness. Plenty of hop taste with a slightly bitter finish. An enjoyable session IPA. wnoble (1251) - Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA - MAY 14, 2014
Pours lighter golden with lacing white head. Nose is flowers, citrus, limey rinds, grapefruits, spice and some toasty malts. Flavor is similar with some piney hop character as well as some minty pines. This was a couple months old but still pretty good. Wish there were more explosive hops and less toasty malts but I never really like toasty malts in hoppy beers. mallen386 (20) - OKC, Oklahoma, USA - MAY 13, 2014
A nice beverage. Nose is a bit too band-aid and the aftertaste is a bit too tinny or medicinal.
