12 ounce bottle. Pours a mostly clear golden color with a medium white head. A rich floral nose with some citrus. Smooth, light flavors, low bitterness, citrus, grapefruit especially, orange peel. Very nice. Both a big beer and isn’t meant to be. czar (9076) - Québec, Quebec, CANADA - JUL 30, 2014
pours hazy light golden with a creamy white head showing some retention and lacing. spicy citrus, hint of tropical, bitter herbs - fresh dill and mint, lean lightly spicy maltiness, fruitiness - oranges and grapefruit, lot of grass and pepper. moderately low carbonation, light body, assertive and dry grassy-spicy-peppery-citrusy finish. quite nice session. b3shine (8874) - Indiana, USA - JUL 18, 2013
Draft to taster at Odd Side. Looks alright; light for an IPA though, even if it is a session; a transparent gold with white lacing. Smells solid; Simcoe hops. Tastes like it smells with a solid, light mouthfeel. A solid session IPA. bytemesis (8411) - Sunnyvale, California, USA - MAY 20, 2013
Bottle in trade. I am really trying to figure out what people DONT like about this beer! Pours cloudy yellow amber with a lot of floates and a medium off-white head that leaves some lacing. OK, not a great start. Aroma is classic simcoe - nice grapefruit and pine aromas bursting from the glass. Flavor follows, perhaps a bit watered down given that this is a session beer, but otherwise nice. Body is light, not surprising. I could drink a few of these on a hot afternoon and be quite happy about it. JaBier (7973) - Capital City, Ohio, USA - MAY 25, 2013
Sample at Odd Side on 3/29/13. Clear yellow pour with a thick white head. Pungent and earthy nose with some sorta citrusy notes. Malty flavor wtih a big grassy presence and a citrus finish.

Flight pour on tap at the brewpub (Grand Haven, MI). Pours a nice hazy golden straw hue, a mellow glow, a bit deadened with some lively bubbles. Cakey whitish head atop as a nice layer, some decent ring and cling sticks around. Decent lacing. Aromas are nice Simcoe and bitter hop elements, firm grapefruit meets lemon, touches of florals and bitter earth. A touch of juicy tropical fruit and gentle catty liveliness. Mellow bread, cereal grains. Initial is lighter bodied, mellow bitterness that starts to grow. Lemon, grapefruit, touch of soap hits the palate. Smaller beer offers some firm bitterness. Touches of grapefruit rind, a bit pithy with some florals, fuzzy earthy bitterness. Faint peach, bit of tropical fruit. Middle is clean, smaller with nice bitterness. Fresh hop element prevails into backend. Firm grapefruit juice, florals, that fruity bent still keeps a rockin’. Touches of gentle chalk, florals, bitter and faint melon. Finish is bitter, citrusy and fresh. Very nice stuff. To the point, bitter and fresh, malt bill never really gives any life except for a golden touch of bready/grainy malts to make you remember it’s a beer. Nice. Simcoe fairly fresh, hop elements really work well though the nose might be the weakness, it’s still solid. Beerman6686 (6607) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 20, 2015
Poured a hazy golden color with a white head. Aroma was of grassy and fruity Hood, light grain character. Flavor similar, mild hops, lingering grainy bitterness. Pailhead (6539) - Rochester Hills, Michigan, USA - MAY 25, 2013
Bottle: The aroma consists of moderate-heavy pine with just a hint of fruit. It pours a transparent gold with a small white head that quickly fades to a thin film outlined by a slightly thicker ring. There’s some thin webbing left on the sides of the glass. The flavor starts with a quick dose of sweet citrus and a touch of lemon. The finish has moderate pine and a light herbal quality. It’s light-medium bodied with somewhat soft carbonation. kaser (6312) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - APR 7, 2016
Bright yellow pour from bottle at home. Malty and earthy. Pretty good for a session. Citrus and mango kick. jgb9348 (6258) - Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA - MAR 20, 2014
Crystal clear coloured golden body with a thin, one centimetre tall off-white head. Aroma of bright herbal and slightly sweet hops with a light hay and yeast note and some smells of honey and flowers. Light-bodied; Assertive floral and grassy note of hops with a good bitterness and a light finish showing mostly hops and quite a bit of grass, hay and yeast. Aftertaste is mild and pleasing with the hop flavours the strongest and no funky flavours or pungent notes, just the simcoe flavour of hops and a lot of dry, herbal notes. Overall, a nice and well received beer that shows exactly what you want from a session-style beer, a lot of flavour with no heaviness and assertive complexity. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Merchant’s in Dearborn, Michigan on 02-August-2013 for US$1.99 sampled at home in Washington on 20-March-2014.
