750ml bottle. Pours a dark black with a very slight, red hue and a three inch tan head that slowly collapses. Taste is of roasted malt, smoke, fruit, grass, herb, vanilla, caramel, wood and dandelions. Similar aroma. Has a full body that coats the mouth. The finish is fruity, a bit dry and a touch bitter. Bridges the gap between beer and wine rather well. Nice!

750 in the mountains in Breckenridge. Pours dark brown with red tiny. Huge fluffy head he goes down to a lumpy medium layer. Nose is Carmel, Carmel, red wine, fruity yeast funk. Taste is Carnap syrup, hint of tartness, red win barrel, oak, harsh malt, funky bite. This is either a pretty bad beer or is slightly infected; I am leaning towards the later given the almost gushing pour and tart des.

Strykzone (7420) - Wood River, Illinois, USA - OCT 7, 2013
Sampled at esbls. A dark pour but a funky one for a porter. Lots of fruit in the nose and it is not like a porter at all. Red grape jotes with tannins. Citrus hops in the back end. No alcohol tasted. Really interesting. A bit of roast.

(750ml bottle) clear for a porter, medium brown, lasting film of light tan head. Nose of red wine, porter, funky, complex, caramel, smells super unique. Taste isn’t as good as the nose, red grapes, sweet almost port like, nutty, mossy cellar floor In the finish.

750 ml bottle to oversized snifter (shared by dudeabide). Looks good; a cloudy dark brown with foamy beige head that steadily dissipates into lacing. Smells solid; malty and nutty with notes of oak and must. Tastes like it smells, only better, with more of a grape presence. Good on the palate. Good beer.

It poured a hazy brown color with a light tan head. The aroma was of light grapes and dusty malts. The taste was of esters and chocolate malt with hints of red wine. Good stuff.

Thanks Dakine! Dark pour with a brown head. Aroma is roasted malt and oak. Taste is sweetness from grapes, roasted malt, oak. dry. Very tasty. Nice lacing. I like the added flavor the grapes add to the porter. Sweetness of the grapes play well with roasted malt.

arondee (601) - Phoenix, Arizona, USA - AUG 28, 2013
Pours a chocolate brown color with an off-white head. Aroma is sour grapes and chocolate malts. The taste is sour right up front followed by coffee/chocolate and ends sour. Very interesting and different. I like it!

Opaque mahogany pour with a huge mocha head. Tons of lacing. Nice aroma with chocolate, wood, red wine, and dark fruits. The barrels come through strong through out the taste with a lot of wine and wood character. There is also chocolate and raisin in there as well. Body is just a little fizzy. Overall I really enjoy this.
