Pours dark brown, almost black, with thin tan head. Aromas of roasted malts and mild grapes. Flavors of medium malt character with a finish of the sweet grapes. This is a well balanced beer and one that I would repeat. EdInSaltLake (748) - Salt Lake City, Utah, USA - MAY 26, 2013
Grape, chocolate-y roasted aroma. Grape juice flavor, finishing more like red wine; sweet/caramel malt flavor, with subtle roast. MikeJslc (778) - Alabama, USA - MAY 25, 2013
Dark brown, hazy, beige head. Aroma of baker's chocolate, some nutty notes, wine barrel evident. Flavor: strong wine barrel character, a light grape note, dry chocolate, a little earthy nutty note. Interesting beer.

Well, Odell has gone so long with everything in the big bottles being a winner for them that one had to disappoint. Pours dark brown with a reddish hue and a beige head. The aroma has toasty malt, plastic, red grapes and some medicinal traits - not up to expectations. It has a medium crisp bubbly body with lots of excessive effervescence. The flavor starts with chocolate malt, 7-Up, minor red wine, minerals and aspirin. The finish adds some berries and spice along with hints of barrel aging. An okay beer, but not up to the norm for Odell. brokensail (16689) - Dublin, California, USA - MAY 11, 2013
Dark brown pour with a khaki head. Roasted malt, cocoa powder, toasted bread, and some light grape. Notes of wood, some peppery spice, and a touch of metal. Light malt sweetness of caramel, some grapes, and a bit of wood. Lightly metallic, roasted malt, cocoa, and some hints of pepper. anders37 (27577) - Malmö, SWEDEN - MAY 10, 2013
Bottle @ Papsø. Pours a dark amber brown color with a small off-white head. Has a slightly roasted malty woody wine and caramel aroma. Sweetish weak roasted malty caramel woody wine flavor. Has a sweetish roasted malty caramel finish. j12601 (13297) - Poughkeepsie, New York, USA - MAY 4, 2013
Bottle courtesy of John at TAP-NY. Pours a deep brown with a thin white to beige head. Roast and cocoa on the nose, chocolate. Chewy roast, soft cocoa. Chocolate and more cocoa with lingering roast and warm alcohol on the finish. kbutler1 (1382) - Minnesota, USA - MAY 3, 2013
Bottle. Cork gives a loud pop when it is finally yanked unwillingly from the bottle. Very head and carbonated. Some roast and sweet grape. Medium mouthfeel. Nice lacing. Pretty sweet upfront and throughout. Not as dry as I anticipated. Fruity. Meh....So after a glass this somewhat grows on me but as it warms you do get some alcohol notes.
