Odell is better than this. I like the attempt at the style, but this is not a scoring based on style, it’s based on all beers, and, this sir, is just not an amazing beer. The alcohol burns the throat. The biggest positive I can say about this beer is that it is not crazy sweet, which is impressive for the good mouthfeel. The more it warms, the more I can dig the attempt. I just can’t get behind this, however, as I see the double pils as a waste of grain as a style. A pils is supposed to be approachable, light, refreshing. The double is harsh, heavy, and drunkifying. Odell: I heart you, so don’t be mad at me for this lackluster review.
bottled, golden color with soapy head of foam, sweet honey and hops nose, flavor is almost medicinal but not as cloying as some of the other imp pils, floral, not bad Hangover (1136) - oxford, Georgia, USA - MAR 4, 2015
Clear golden pour with a medium white head. Strong yeasty aroma. Creamy body, low carbonation. Spicy and yeasty up front, some hay and straw notes towards the middle. Finishes stale and slightly flat. Something is missing, body seems too thin for the abv, maybe it’s the yeast strain. VeinAle (134) - Minnesota, USA - MAR 3, 2015
Sweet on the nose. Golden yellow with a mild head. The hops are well subdued by the malts. Smooth drinking. Light sweetness with an almost salty pils taste. Good, but not the greatest. Stuu666 (13367) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - DEC 1, 2014
Keg at the Hanging Bat. Pours amber, nose is pineapple, toffee, taste is juicy fruit, sweet and cloying, more so the longer it warms. Bule (2160) - California, USA - NOV 29, 2014
12oz bottle pours a golden color with a bit of head. Nice malty flavor but overpowered by the alcohol booziness. Very sweet.

On tap at Cugino’s. It poured a hazy light golden color with a white head. The aroma was of banana, straw, a some hay. The taste was of straw with alcohol and banana in the finish. Leini (2054) - SWEDEN - OCT 6, 2014
Sample @ a tasting event. Golden body with a medium white head. Bready, with notes of dough, fruit & grass. slowrunner77 (12037) - Reno, Nevada, USA - SEP 25, 2014
"Not as hoppy, grassy, or complex as I was expecting, though it was a nice refreshing brew. More sweet malt, with some hay-like hops, but nothing overpowering. A little alcohol on the nose, but not overdone. Overall, a nice pils, but there’s better out there within this cool style. 2013 - had a fresh one on tap. Gotta upgrade. All the flavors and aromas of a good pils, just amped up with a little more hops." stevoj (5031) - Boise, Idaho, USA - SEP 22, 2014
Decent strong pils, not overly malty as some in this style. Normal pils color and body is slightly viscous, slightly sweet grain aroma. Taste is rather smooth and not too sweet, some honey and corn. Decent, but not the best. maley1 (1273) - Calgary, CANADA - AUG 30, 2014
On tap. Slightly hazy golden pour with small white head. Aroma of malts, bread, dough, slightly fruity, caramel and hops. Taste of caramel malts, bread dough, slightly fruity and hoppy boozy finish . Full bodied, soft carbonation, creamy soft mouthfeel, nicely balanced. Just ok.
