3.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Straw color. Thin light head. Amazingly delicious pilsner. I would never have guessed the alcohol content was so high (8.1%)
From Jul 2006
Poured from 12oz bottle a straw gold with a medium sized head of foam that dissipated slowly leaving a solid layer on the beer and some lacing on the sides of the glass.
The smell is of sweet malt..typical for many of the pilsners I've had before.
The taste is rather smooth but there's definitely a lot of malt sweetness up front with a good infusion of hops that's rather bitter but not in a citrusy way...more of a grassy bitterness. The finish ends on a sweet note with some alcohol noticeable but not intrusive. Overall, this is a good representative of a Double Pilsner but...I'd find it a bit difficult to drink more than 1 at a sitting.
Revisited on June 2, 2008: I saw this on the shelf again after a long absence.(I think we in Casper missed out in 2007)
The only changes I could say for sure is that I now find it more drinkable than in my first review and it seems to have a better nose. I don't know what happened but dang, the alcohol is *very* well hidden this time around and my new scoring will reflect that. Darn good stuff!!

bottled, golden color with soapy head of foam, sweet honey and hops nose, flavor is almost medicinal but not as cloying as some of the other imp pils, floral, not bad Hangover (1143) - oxford, Georgia, USA - MAR 4, 2015
Clear golden pour with a medium white head. Strong yeasty aroma. Creamy body, low carbonation. Spicy and yeasty up front, some hay and straw notes towards the middle. Finishes stale and slightly flat. Something is missing, body seems too thin for the abv, maybe it’s the yeast strain. VeinAle (135) - Minnesota, USA - MAR 3, 2015
Sweet on the nose. Golden yellow with a mild head. The hops are well subdued by the malts. Smooth drinking. Light sweetness with an almost salty pils taste. Good, but not the greatest. Stuu666 (14916) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - DEC 1, 2014
Keg at the Hanging Bat. Pours amber, nose is pineapple, toffee, taste is juicy fruit, sweet and cloying, more so the longer it warms.

12oz bottle pours a golden color with a bit of head. Nice malty flavor but overpowered by the alcohol booziness. Very sweet.

On tap at Cugino’s. It poured a hazy light golden color with a white head. The aroma was of banana, straw, a some hay. The taste was of straw with alcohol and banana in the finish. Leini (2079) - SWEDEN - OCT 6, 2014
Sample @ a tasting event. Golden body with a medium white head. Bready, with notes of dough, fruit & grass. slowrunner77 (12895) - Reno, Nevada, USA - SEP 25, 2014
"Not as hoppy, grassy, or complex as I was expecting, though it was a nice refreshing brew. More sweet malt, with some hay-like hops, but nothing overpowering. A little alcohol on the nose, but not overdone. Overall, a nice pils, but there’s better out there within this cool style. 2013 - had a fresh one on tap. Gotta upgrade. All the flavors and aromas of a good pils, just amped up with a little more hops." stevoj (5592) - Boise, Idaho, USA - SEP 22, 2014
Decent strong pils, not overly malty as some in this style. Normal pils color and body is slightly viscous, slightly sweet grain aroma. Taste is rather smooth and not too sweet, some honey and corn. Decent, but not the best.
